hippest hippo – final days of sale-a-bration 2022

hippest hippo – final days of sale-a-bration 2022

Today’s blog post is a reminder that you all need to get any last minute Sale-a-bration orders in if you still want any Sale-a-bration FREE merchandise – ‘Cause Sale–abration ends on Wednesday of this week.
I do have a current Hostess code going until then.

CURRENT HOSTESS CODE = WP4GHJB9

The Hippest Hippos is a cute, whimsical set that contains three smaller hippo images. Ever wonder how to make a standard size card with smaller images – LAYERING is the answer!!!

Here I used multiple layers to draw the eye towards the focal point – the cute little hippo and greeting!

Measurements:
BASE: Basic White CS 5 /12″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
Layer: Basic White CS 4″ x 5 1/4″ embossed
Largest circle from Stylish Dies –
Gingham Cottage DSP
Basic Black and White CS – Stylish Shapes
consecutive banner dies

I embossed the Basic White layer on the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder (#156505) and then popped this layer up the Stampin’ Dimensionals (#104430). I then offset the largest circle die from the Stylish Shapes die set (#159183) on Gingham Cottage DSP (#159651)
I colored the hippo first in Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends marker (#154882) and then overlaid Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends marker (#154904) I added Sweet Sorbet Stampin’ Blends marker to the flower and toenails (#159224) and the leaf I colored with Mint Macaron Stampin’ Blends (#154889). I fussy cut the image out using our fabulous knife edged Paper snips scissors (#103579) and added it to the left side of the circle die on the card.
I took the smallest banner die from Stylish Shapes and die cut the “Love you a ton” sentiment on Basic White CS and cut the next largest banner die in Basic Black – layered them and added then to the card sliding the left edge under the hippo.
I added coordinating embellishments starting with the 2022-2024 In Color Matte Decorative Dots (#159186). I always add them in odd numbers here I used three in a triangular pattern.
I finished the card off with the 1/8″ Metallic Woven ribbon in coordinating Sweet Sorbet (#159200) – so simple and sweet!

Hope this inspires you to create some art of your very own – one stamp at a time!

rainbow emboss resist with amazing phrasing

rainbow emboss resist with amazing phrasing

This is my favorite July-August 2022 Sale-a-bration Item! This set is so fun and full of great sentiments and sayings! It is a Level 2 Sale-a-bration item meaning that it requires a $100 order to qualify for this FREE merchandise item but boy is it worth it! Multiple combinations exist and this card contains just two of the Amazing Phrasing phrases!

This card also features the Emboss Resist Technique in rainbow colors so it makes for a very bright and cheery card!

Measurements:
BASE: Poppy Parade CS 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2
scored at 4 1/4″
Layers: Basic White 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″
Basic White (embossed layer) 5 1/4″ x 4
Scraps: Basic White for the sentiment

This card is perfect for using one of our returning favorites – the Embossing Additioons Tool Kit (#159971) which includes the Embossing Buddy, the Powder Pal, Crafting Tweezers, and a Crafting Brush.

Using the Stamparatus ink up the Spiral Dye stamp and stamp the image onto the smaller Basic White CS layer.

Place in the Powder Pal and sprinkle the Clear embossing powder from the Basics Embossing Powders (#155554) set.

Using the tweezers hold the paper and heat with the Heat tool so you do not burn your fingers since the entire layer is embossed.
Heat until the powder changes to a shiny smooth surface, do not overheat as you can singe the powder.
Starting in the spiral center, Brush on ink color in rainbow order – Gorgeous Grape, Pacific Point, Bermuda Bay, Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, and Poppy Parade inks with the Blending brushes.
Using a paper towel or a dried up baby wipe – burnish the surface so that the embossed areas return to their white coloring.
Layer the embossed layer onto the larger Basic White layer.
Adhere that layer onto the Poppy Parade base card. Then add the sentiment to the lower portion of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Add 2022-2024 In Colors Decorative Matte Dots in a rainbow gradient of colors and your fun and cheery rainbow emboss resist card is complete. Try a fun and cheery card and create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!

last days of sale-a-bration – aspen trees dies card

last days of sale-a-bration – aspen trees dies card

I love watercoloring but it can be intimidating for some so I LOVE this technique! The watercolor Smoosh technique is awesome for any level of stamper – beginner to advanced!

Just pick two or three complimentary colors and either a window sheet or one of your acrylic plates from the Stamparatus (#146276) – this is one of my favorite things to use the acrylic plates for!

Measurements:

BASE: Basic White CS 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
Layers: Basic white 2 pieces of 4″ x 5 14/”
Sahara Sand 1 piece of 4″ x 5 1/4″
Scraps: Basic White for the sentiment

Using one of the acrylic plates from your Stamparatus, scribble 2-3 colors with your Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers in a random pattern covering an area larger than the 4″ x 5 1/4″ pieces of Basic White cardstock.
Using a spray bottle filled with Rubbing Alcohol, spray the acrylic surface with the alcohol until the colors start to run and blend.
Place the Basic White CS on top of the acrylic surface to absorb the color and alcohol mixture.

Allow to dry and repeat process for the second sheet of Basic white CS.

With the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine die cut the Sahara Sand CS piece with the large tree silhouette die from the Aspen Trees Dies set (#163102) (which is available as a Sale-a-bration FREE level two merchandise item through the end of August!) and use the two leaf dies on the alcohol Blends technique paper and die cut multiple leaves from this CS.
Adhere the second full sheet of the Alcohol Blends colored CS to the back of the Aspen Trees Die cut paper. I used Stampin’ Seal + as the paper curls slightly due to the alcohol.
Adhere this layer to the Basic White Card base and then adhere the leaves to the bottom portion of the card.
With a scrap piece of Basic White stamp the sentiment in coordinating Sahara Sand ink and I used the light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends marker and tapped it on the edge of a scissors to create a subtle splatter effect on the piece of paper before die cutting it from the Stylish Shapes die set.
Pop up the sentiment on Stampin’ Dimensions and adhere atop the leaf clusters.
here is a close up photo of the subtle splatter effect.
I added the sweet sorbet 2022-2024 In Color Matte Decorative dots to the front and voila a colorful Fall card! I have just the perfect young lady just off to college to send this to!
If you haven’t tried this easy and fun technique – give it a whirl – careful though it is addictive!!
It’s simple and lovely and comes out different every time! Now go out and create some art of your own – one stamp at a time!

sale-a-bration triangle tri-fold card

sale-a-bration triangle tri-fold card

I found this fun fold, the triangle tri-fold on the internet and loved the look. Thought the new Sale-a-bration level two reward Wonderful World stamp set and coordinating DSP would be perfect for this type of card!

Measurements:
2 pieces of Starry Sky cut to 10 1/4″ x 8″ scored at 5 1/2″
1 piece of Wonderful World DSP cut at 3 3/4″
square and cut on the diagonal
2 pieces of Coordinating Wonderful World DSP
cut to 3 3/4″ x 4″
scrap starry sky and Basic White CS for the
sentiment pieces

Cut a piece of Starry Sky cardstock to 10 1/4″ x 8″. On the short side cut the cardstock in half at 4″.

Score both of these pieces at 5 1/2″ on the long side. On the side of the cardstock that measures 4 3/4″ on each cardstock piece, make a mark at 4″ and score diagonally to the outer corner.

Flip one piece over and attach to the other piece of cardstock matching up and gluing over the 5 1/2″ area. (You should have a triangle to the top left and a triangle to the bottom right when you are finished.)
Cut a piece of Designer Series paper to 3 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ Cut in half on the diagonal. (Keep in mind which way the pattern is going and make sure that the triangle pattern is going the correct direction for the finished card.) Layer these pieces onto the card base.
Cut two pieces of patterned paper to 3 3/4″ x 4 1/4″. Fold up the card base and fold the top triangle back. Lay the patterned paper as shown. Using a pencil make a mark about 1/8″ from the diagonal score line (about 9/16″ from the top).
Using your paper trimmer cut the patterned paper at an angle from the opposite corner to the pencil mark. Do the same with the other piece. Note that this piece will be opposite.
Prepare a focal panel for the card that will center between the two triangles on the front, and a panel for the inside of the card.

I used Stampin’ Write markers direct to rubber to color the flower image from the new level two Sale-a-bration set. For the sample, two layered circles were die cut, one in white and another in Starry Sky cardstock. The white circle was stamped with an image from the Wonderful World Sale-a-bration Stamp Set.

For the inside cut and stamp a piece of white cardstock to 3 3/4″ x 5 1/4″.

Adhere the stamped Image to the coordinating background circle. Wrap a piece of ribbon 24″ long around the card so that the ends are to the right hand side of card.

Add glue/adhesive to the half of the Circle image that lays on the top triangle and glue down over the ribbon to card. Add new 2022-2024 In Color Matte Decorative Dots embellishments to the card front as desired.

Such a dynamic Fun Fold! Hope you enjoyed this, now go create one of your own – one stamp at a time!
