Measurements:
BASE #1: Basic White CS: 5 1/2″ x 6 1/4″
score at 2″
Layer #1: 1 3/4″ x 5 1/4″
BASE#2: Basic White CS: 5 1/4″ x 8 1/4″

Take each of the colored CS scraps and punch the home out of the humble Home punch for each color: Summer Splash, Berry Burst and Lemon Lolly.

Color in the thank you sentiment on top with a Dark Summer Splash Stampin’ Blends marker.

more color mondays – calypso coral, peach pie and daffodil delight

more color mondays – calypso coral, peach pie and daffodil delight

Today’s More Color Monday features the Humble Home bundle on a Split Panel card. This fun take on a regular card still uses a half sheet of 8 1/2″ x 11″ piece of cardstock – just adding a twist!

Measurements:
BASE: Basic White CS: 4 1/4″ x 11″
(2) 1 1/4″ x 4″
(1) 2 1/4″ x 4″
Peach Pie 4″ x 5 1/4″ and scrap for the punches
Calypso Coral scrap for the punches
Daffodil Delight scrap for the punches

Cut the 4 1/4″ x 11″ at 1 1/2″ then cut 2 1/2″ off the end then score at 1 1/2″
Save the cut off pieces we will be using!
Stamp the house image from the Humble Home stamp set on scrap pieces of the three colors Calypso Coral, Peach Pie and Daffodil Delight!
Punch all three houses out with the Humble Home punch and punch out an extra heart from each colored card stock.
Take the extra Basic White pieces (2) 1 1/4″ x 4″ and the 2 1/4″ x 4″ and place them in the 3D Forever Plaid folder. I placed the two smaller pieces up and down vertically in the folder and the larger piece in the folder horizontally so that the patterns were the same orientation when I adhere them to the card.
Adhere the plaid smaller panels to the panel just to the right of the score line on the card and the 1 1/2″ cut off piece.
Adhere the larger embossed piece on the 2 1/2″ cut off piece. Place tape on the shorter outer edges of the 2 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ piece. Place the 1 1/2″ cut off piece on the right hand edge of the inside of the card base. Adhere the larger piece across the two small embossed panels.
Adhere the three houses to the card front across the middle panel.
I took our pearls embellishments and my Dark Peach Pie Stampin’ Blends marker and colored three small pearls with the blends alcohol based marker. Allow a few minutes to dry and then using my Take Your Pick tool I added them to the card for a beautifully coordinated embellishment!
I used the heart punches on the outside and the inside of the card.
The hearts were a little bit bigger than the doorframes so I added the dots from the door frame with a Basic Black Stampin’ Write marker.
I decided to rework the card as the white on white did not effectively show the split panel design as well as I liked so I added a 4″ x 5 1/4″ Peach Pie to the inside of the card.
What a fun and different way to use a standard card size and give it a little twist LITERALLY!!!!

Try this fast and easy card alternative design and go and create a little artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!

humble home double box fun fold

humble home double box fun fold

This Double Box Fun Fold card is super easy once you have the dimensions and what a fun standing 3D card for your favorite person!

Measurements:
BASE Piece #1: Pecan Pie: 9 3/8″ x 4 1/4″
   scored at 3/8″, 1 3/8″, 2 7/8″ and 3 7/8″
BASE Piece #2: Pecan Pie: 3 1/2″ x 5 1/8″
   scored at 3/8″ and 1 3/8″
   scraps for Humble Home punch
Basic Beige CS: 3 3/4″ x 4″
   3 1/4″ x 3 3/4″
Real Red CS: 1 1/4″ x 4″ and (2) 5/8″ x 4″
   scrap for die cut
1/4″ strip for Humble Home punch for heart

Stamp the Home image in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Pecan Pie scrap and punch out home and save the heart as well.

Die cut a medium circle from the Stylish Shapes die set in Real Red CS and stamp the “from our house to yours” in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

Run the Basic Beige smaller piece through the Exposed Brick 3D embossing folder.
Run the three Real Real pieces through the Forever Plaid 3D embossing folder.
Fold the score lines in as mountain folds and add Tear and Tape to the first and smallest scored panel.
Peel off the release paper from BASE #1 and fold the second score line from the end and attach the Tear and Tape piece to the card base.
If you attach while the paper is folded flat this will put the scored tab with the Tear and Tape in the correct place to allow the card to open and close within the parameters of the envelope size.
Attach the Forever Plaid 3D embossed Real Red pieces to the box panels the two pieces of the same size attach to the side of the box and the larger piece goes on the top panel of the box.
Adhere the Basic Beige embossed piece to the BASE #2 piece.
Place some adhesive on the end opposite the Tear and Tape end to attach to the BASE #1 box.
I placed the piece upside down on Box #1 so that I made sure to only adhere where the end of the piece would meet on Box #1’s surface (you do not want to adhere past the box edge)
Flip over Box #2 and adhere the left hand edge to Box #1.
Peel the release paper from the Tear and Tape, fold over the first two panels and then collapse box #1 and with the first to panels from Box #2 folded to the back – press firmly to secure the Tear and Tape to the card base.
(I decided to add a layer to the card base after doing this step OOPS!! so if you would like a layer under Box #2 do this before adhering the end of Box #2.
I adhered the small Real Red sentiment circle die to the surface of Box #2.
I adhered a Pecan Pie small heart to the Real Red circle die.
Adhere the Humble Home punch house to the card front and I added three Real Red hearts coming out of the chimney.
I decided to add another layer to the card base so I detached BASE #2 and adhered the Basic Beige layer to the card base then reattached BOX #2.
This is a view of the card standing up!
I added three Iridescent Adhesive-Backed Discs to the card front to finish the card off with a little bling!

more color mondays – berry burst, highland heather and blackberry bliss

more color mondays – berry burst, highland heather and blackberry bliss

Another More Color Monday back with a Double Diamond Fun fold in hues of purple! Berry Burst, Highland Heather and Blackberry Bliss compliment the rich floral designs in the new Regal Winter DSP! Follow along for the easy instructions for this fun fold design! Also learn a fun coloring technique along the way.

Measurements:
BASE: Blackberry Bliss CS: 4 1/4″ x 11″
scored at 2 1/8″ and 5 1/2″
Berry Burst: (2) 2 3/4″ squares
Basic White: (2) 2 1/2″ squares
DSP: (2) 3″ x 4″
(1) 4″ x 5 1/4″

Take the two Basic White card squares,
stamp thank you from the Humble Home stamp set on the center of the first one.
Color the entire inside of the hollow lettering of the thank you sentiment in light Stampin’ Blends Highland Heather.
Next I wanted to create a gradient of color so I took the Dark Stampin’ Blends marker in Highland Heather and colored only the bottom half of the lettering.
Color over the inside of the lettering with the Light Marker to blend the colors. This creates an ombre look to the letters!
Have you ever wanted to use a sentiment but it was not the right size?
This is a fun and easy technique – it’s called omitting and you take a Stampin’ Write marker in the color you need – in this case I used the Highland Heather marker. Using the brush tip, I colored the first two words with the side of the brush tip marker “for the” from the Humble Home “for the sweet gift” sentiment.
I stamped those words on the upper middle of second diamond shape.
Then I brushed ink onto the “sweet gift” portion of the sentiment and stamped it below the “for the” on the diamond.
This way I could use the sentiment I wanted on the shape that I chose!
On the edge closest to the 2 1/8″ score line mark at 2 1/8″ on the 4 1/4″ side.
Cut diagonally from the middle 2 1/8″ mark to the score line on the left and then reposition and cut from the mark to the score line on the right edge of the card.
Fold the triangular piece back towards the score line of the card.
Adhere the 4″ x 5 1/4″” DSP piece to the inside right hand panel of the card.
Take one of the 3″ x 4″ pieces of DSP and adhere to the left hand inside panel of the card.
Take the other 3″ x 4″ DSP piece and adhere to the outside panel underneath the triangular cut….
Adhere the Basic White Diamonds to the Berry Burst diamonds.
Adhere the left side of the thank you diamond to the triangle on the card front
You want to place the inside diamond so that it is directly under the front diamond, so it is hidden and a surprise when opening the card!
I found the easiest way for me to do this is to adhere the entire back of the diamond and place tape side up on the back of the first diamond.
Close the back of the card over the diamonds and press on the back of the card securing the adhesive on the second diamond to the inside of the card.
The inside diamond should be in line with the front diamond when the card is closed!
I added three shiny sequins to the front sentiment on the card and two on the inside diamond to finish off the card with a coordinating bit of bling!
Try this easy fun fold with stamps and DSP you have at home. Now go and create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!
