more color mondays – berry burst, highland heather and gorgeous grape

I cannot believe how fast the weeks go by! Hard to believe that the first month of the new year is more than 3/4 of the way gone! I am loving our new catalogs and getting to show you all fun samples of cards using all the new materials!

Today is another More Color Monday and it features an array of purples to play with! Berry Burst, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape are three of the fabulous shades of purple in the new Perennial Lavender Designer Series paper that makes this card an easy WOW card!

Measurements:
BASE: Highland Heather CS 4 1/4″ x 11″
scored at 5 1/2″
DSP: (2) 2″ x 5 1/4″ (2) 2″ x 3/4″
Basic White: 4″ x 5 1/4″ for inside
scrap for Heartfelt Hexagon punch and dies
Berry Burst strip scrap 1/4″ x 5 1/4″

Take a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock and stamp the double lined outline of the Heartfelt Hexagon image in Gorgeous Grape ink.
Choose a sentiment from the Heartfelt Hexagon stamp set and stamp it inside the Gorgeous grape hexagon in the Berry burst ink color.
Using the Heartfelt Hexagon punch, punch out the hexagon.
Score the Highland Heather base card at 5 1/2″ and fold with a bone folder for a nice crisp fold.
Adhere the Basic White 4″ x 5 1/4″ layer to the inside of the card.
Adhere the two small pieces of DSP left over from cutting the DSP down to 5 1/4 in length and adhere a 1/4″ x 4″ strip of Berry Burst across the bottom and over that adhere one of the 2″ x 3/4″ rectangle pieces of DSP.
Adhere the other small rectangular DSP piece to the opposite corner of the Basic White layer.
On the card front, adhere the 2″ x 5 1/4″ piece of DSP to the left side, leaving an even border on the top, bottom and left edge of the cardstock.
Flip over the other piece of 2″ x 5 1/4″ DSP to the other pattern and adhere to the right side of the card front leaving an even border around the outside edges.
Adhere the 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ Berry burst strip to the middle where the edges meet from the two pieces of DSP.
Pop up the Heartfelt Hexagon punch out onto Stampin’ Dimensionals and place in the upper middle above the Berry Burst strip.
Punch out the two lavender sprigs in Basic White scrap cardstock and using a blending brush in Gorgeous Grape and Berry Burst inks color each stem in a separate color.
Adhere diagonally under the hexagon punch.
In the Perennial Lavender Suite are these stunning Shimmer Gems called Purple Fine Shimmer Gems and up close they are amazing! The catalog does not do them justice!
These gems come in the three colors for today’s challenge so I used each color on the card!
The shimmer Gems finish off this bright and cheerful card! Hope you enjoyed this easy DSP card and try it with some of your own stash today! Now go and create some artwork of your very own – one piece of DSP or one stamp at a time!

heartfelt hexagon window card

heartfelt hexagon window card

Today will be a very fun day and this is one of the fun projects you will be able to do if you are local and coming to visit me between 1-3pm at my New Catalog Open House. This bundle was made available early on-line because it was used in an on-line stamping day but it is one of the new bundles available in the January to April 2024 Mini Catalog! (and there is a FREE set you can earn during Sale-a-bration that coordinates with the punch HOW FUN IS THAT!!)
One of the best things I like about punches is that they can do so many fun things and cutting out a peek through window is one of those things and the one use I will be highlighting in this blog post!

Measurements:
Orchid Oasis: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″
1/2″ strips of:
Bubble Bath
Flirty Flamingo
Lemon Lime Twist
Coastal Cabana
Orchid Oasis
Basic White layer: 4″ x 5 1/4″ embossed and
punched

Slide the Hexagon punch onto the Basic White layer from the top of the 4 1/4″ side and punch out the hexagon shape.
Place the punched layer into the Painted Posies 3D embossing folder and emboss the image around the punched window.
Cut at least one 1/2″ strip of each of the colored cardstock in Bubble Bath, Flirty Flamingo, Lemon Lime Twist, Coastal Cabana, and Orchid Oasis.
Place adhesive closely around the punched out window on the back side.
Layer one strip butting up next to the next strip and lay down onto the adhesive above and below the punched out window opening.

Place the Basic White layer embossing side up on a Stampin’ Pierce mat and stamp in Tuxedo Black Memento ink, one of the sentiments from the Heartfelt Hexagon Bundle. Press firmly as you are stamping on multiple pieces of cardstock layered next to one another and not a single sheet of cardstock.

Tie a length of Orchid Oasis Metallic Woven ribbon in a knot around the Basic White embossed layer. Pop up this layer on Stampin’ Dimensionals and adhere to the Orchid Oasis cardstock base.

One of the coolest things about this Metallic Woven ribbon is you can pull it gently to create a pattern within the ribbon or pull it all the way to create loose singular threads at the end – I used both techniques on the edges of this ribbon. I placed a small patch of adhesive down under the ribbon to keep the pulled design intact!
I added five 2022-2024 In Color Pearls in coordinating Orchid Oasis to complete the card with a little coordinating bling – LOVE that about Stampin’ Up!

Hope to see you this afternoon and help you make this card! Come and create a little artwork of your very own – one new stamp at a time!!!

dynamic swap cards

dynamic swap cards

I love getting the mail! More times than not being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator that participates in card swaps – I find happy mail in my mail box! It is always a thrill to open up a card and discover the design that the demonstrator on the other end dreamed up! I love the surprise of it all! What stamp set was used, what techniques, the embellishments and the fun extras are all such a creative inspiration! Hopefully they are for you also and that is why I share my monthly swaps – you get to see different demonstrator’s styles and stamp sets that I do not own and creative ways to do your cards!

the first swap card is from Carol S. and she used the Earthen Textures bundle of products (#161514) is the 10% saving bundle with the stamp set and coordinating dies. The suite (#161518) contains the bundle, the Earthen Elegance DSP and the Natural Wavy Trim (#161517) used on the card.

Mimi H. used the book binding fun fold and the Little Monkeys Bundle with the retiring soon (still available) Garden Walk paper (#162227). She also used the Elegant Eucalyptus 3D embossing folder (#159170) this is a 2 pack of folders that fits in the mini Stampin’ Cut and Emboss!
This pretty swap card uses the Sparkling Snowflakes set from the current mini and will be a carry over product (#162158). Gale R. made the sentiment piece from the new Deckled Circles dies (#162286) another carry over product and the creative matte out of the coordinating tag for that bundle (#162164) the Sparkling Snowflakes Tag Topper!

This swap card used retired DSP called Dainty Flowers and the Natural Wavy trim which has been very popular (#161517) and the sentiment and inside stampings are from Dainty Delight (#161078)
This card is from Veronica S. and it uses one of my favorite papers out of the current mini catalog Merry and Bright DSP it sold out quickly but there are still items available on the Last Chance list if you are interested! She also used the Year to Celebrate stamp set (#162279) which is retiring soon and is on sale for $11.40 while supplies last. Current hostess code is SQAAWK23. In the new year I will be starting a program and sending a little something to everyone that orders using the current hostess code! Look for all the details soon!
And to finish off the November swap cards is an out of this world LOL swap card by Susan K. using the Stargazing DSP (#161175) and the coordinating Stargazing Suite (#161189) It’s such a bright and fun card! The inside sentiment reads “You’re stellar” Love that!
Hope these swaps inspired you to go out and create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!
