bi-fold window flap fun fold card

bi-fold window flap fun fold card

September was Fun Fold swap month – I love doing fun folds and this one was the first to arrive (I will show them in a blog post once I receive the majority of them in the mail!)
– it is a window bi-fold fun fold card and it is so simple I had to CASE it and detail it here for you! Thanks to fellow swap demonstrator Marie W for the inspiration and she credited Peggy N! thanks to both you creative ladies!

Measurments:
Base: Basic White CS 8 1/2″ square
scored at 4 1/4 on both sides
Lights Aglow DSP 4″ square
Distressed Gold 12″ x 12″ DSP 4″ square
scraps of Basic White for the sentiment

Score at 4 1/4″ on both sides.
Cut the top left corner out as shown in o
image.

Die cut the largest circle from the square below the empty space and cut a 1/16″ of an inch off the score line between the upper square and the empty space so the card will close easier without buckling.
Placing the open space in the upper left hand corner – stamp a sentiment in versamark and heat emboss with Gold Embossing powder on the diagonal space (lower right hand square)
Fold the top square downward and adhere the DSP 4″ square to the folded down flap.
Stamp the snowflake image from the Chistmas Lights stamp set in Versamark on the card front around the window opening and set with the heat tool and Gold embossing powder.
Add a gold shimmer ribbon to the card front circle window as shown in the photo below.
Adhere the Distressed Gold DSP to the back of the window opening and die cut the next circle die down from the largest in the Stylish Shapes die set .
Using the new Embossing accessories kit LOVE That this is back new and improved!!! – I embossed the outside sentiment and die cut with the small detailed circle die from the Twinkling Lights dies set.
I popped up the card front sentiment on Stampin’ Dimensionals and placed it through the card front window onto the Black DSP on the flap. I was a little uncentered with my circle so I took the opportunity to be creative and added additional Gold Shimmer Ribbon to the right side of the Lights Aglow DSP on the flap to balance the sentiment.
This was Marie W’s swap card that inspired my CASE card today!
And here is my finished version!
If you have wanted to try a fun fold lately this is a perfect one to start with – simple and easy but elegant!

Go out and create some art of your own – one stamp at a time!

gate fold explosion card

gate fold explosion card

OK are we all in agreement any card that explodes outward towards the recipient has a great WOW factor! and this one does not disappoint!

Measurements:
Real Red CS : 4 1/4″ x 11″ scored at 2 3/4″ from
each side on the 11″ side
Designer Series Paper 4″ x 10 3/4″ scored at
2 5/8 from each long side!
Basic White insert: 3 3/4″ x 5 1/4″ marked at
1 7/8″ on both short sides and at 2 5/8″ at
each long side and score from mark to mark
the whole way around the insert making four
connecting score lines.
Front panels:
Basic White CS: 4″ x 5 1/4″
DSP: 3 3/4″ x 5″
scrap pieces of garden green for the Holly leaves and sentiment layer
Belly Band:
Real Red 1″ x 11″
DSP 3/4″ x 12″

Cut and Score the CS and DSP as described in the measurement section above
After the initial scoring of the Designer series paper, fold the score lines in towards the center and with a pencil mark the outside edges at 2″ mark and both ends. With the two side pieces folded in the back piece measures 5 1/2″ from score line to score line. We want to mark the center of that back piece at 2 3/4″ (or if it is easier for you open the paper the whole way and find the center of 10 3/4″ and mark the top and bottom at 5 3/8″)
Once you’ve marked the center both ways fold the score lines in and place the 2″ mark in the scoring track of your Stampin’ Trimmer and align the mark at 2 3/4″ in the other side of the track – repeat this process until all four diagonal lines are scored (see diagram below)
Fold the score lines as if pinching in towards each other as shown in photo below and using a bone folder burnish each score line to allow the explosion portion to lie as flat as possible!
Place the diamond shaped folded explosion portion of the card in the center of the card base and using Stampin’ Seal+ or TearNTape secure the top to the scored folded right side
Adhere the left side of the explosion piece to the scored fold on the left side of the base.
Cut, stamp and adhere the insert to the center of the explosion piece.
Taking the Front panels adhere the DSP to the Basic White layer and only placing Stampin’ Seal+ to the outside of the left scored panel adhere just the left side of the front panel to the card front.
I also adhered a Holly die cut to the upper right hand portion of the card front panel.
I adhered the belly band pieces together
The DSP will be longer and you will need that length to secure the belly band the entire way around the card.
I adhered the sentiment piece on top of the 1 inch of belly band that only had DSP to hide that portion.
Make the belly band loose enough to slip on and off.
I adhered Red Rhinestones to the sentiment piece for added bling and viola a special WOW Christmas explosion card for someone special!
This is the completed card closed, opened and a close up shot of the insert decorated with matching red rhinestones!

Hope you try this fun WOW card soon! Now go out and create some art of your own – one stamp at a time!

This is a card that you can prop up on your desk and look at! I love fun folds and this is a fun one! It is called a double Z Gate fold card and was inspired by fellow demonstrator Connie S.’s video! Thanks for the inspiration. Thought I would share my version!

Measurements:
Basic White Base: 5 1/4″ x 11″ scored at
1 3/4″ and 3 1/2″ from both 5 1/4″ ends
Basic Black 2 pieces of 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
1 piece of 1 1/2″ x 5″
scrap for sentiment
Sweet Sorbet: 3 1/2″ x 4 1/2″
scrap for sentiment matte
Perfectly Penciled DSP: 4″ x 5 1/4″ (1)
1 1/4″ x 4 3/4″ (1) Both colored with Blends

4″ x 5 1/4″ (1) – left black and white

Score the 5 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Basic White cardstock on the 11″ side at 1 3/4″ and 3 1/2″ from the left side and then rotate the paper 180 degrees and score again at 1 3/4″ and 3 1/2″ on the opposite side of the paper. ( or you can extend the arm of the paper cutter and score at 1 3/4″, 3 1/2″ 7 1/2″ and 9 1/4″ from the left side)

I stamped a Happy Birthday sentiment from the Artistically Inked stamp set (#154542) in the center of the large back panel on the base card.

Adhere one of the Basic Black 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ sheets to the back of the center panel on the Basic white card base.
Adhere the 4″ x 5 1/4″ Perfectly Penciled piece of DSP to the second Basic black 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of CS and placing Stampin’ Seal or Tear and Tape to the outer left sided fold and adhere the black CS edge to the Basic White fold edge.
Adhere the Basic Black cardstock when the card is folded and place directly over the back Basic Black cardstock panel
With Stampin’ Blends markers (I used Sweet Sorbet (#159224), Orchid Oasis (#159223) and Parakeet Party (#159220)) color the flowers on the other two Perfectly Penciled DSP pieces and mount the smaller one to the black CS piece and the medium one to the Sweet Sorbet CS piece.
Adhere the black matted piece to the outer right hand fold.
Adhere the Sweet Sorbet CS piece to the center of the card front
Stamp a sentiment in Sweet Sorbet ink and mount on a sweet sorbet CS matte and adhere to the card front.
I added Festive Pearls from the current July to December mini catalog (these are not just for Christmas folks!) and a small velco closure to the card to help keep it closed.
Love how this can be displayed!

design a daydream dsp corner pop out fun fold

design a daydream dsp corner pop out fun fold

I first saw this Corner pop out fun fold on a favorite resource of mine – a sideline demonstrator in my family tree named Rachel!
I loved it and had to copy and share it with you all!

Measurements:
Base: Design a Daydream DSP 7″ x 8 1/4″
Basic White CS 4″ x 5 1/4″
2 5/8″ square
scraps for die cutting Sunflower
Daffodil Delight CS 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″
scraps for die cutting sunflower outline

With the 7″ side on top – score the DSP 2 3/4″ from left hand side and from the top of the DSP
Fold the paper at a diagonal at the merge point of the two score lines making sure that the edges are parallel to the sides.
Fold the diagonal score lines toward the inside of the card so that the square sits above the two folded score lines as shown.
Adhere the Basic white layer to the Daffodil Delight layer
adhere those layers to the bottom right inside rectangle as shown below.
Stamp the smaller Basic White CS square
Adhere that white square to the upper left hand inside space as shown.
With the card closed stamp the hello sentiment from the Artistically Inked set and then open uo the card and stamp the small sunflower image below the sentiment.
This is what the inside looks like stamped and adhered together
Stamp on a scrap piece of Basic White CS the large sunflower image and die cut.
Die cut on Daffodil Delight CS the sunflower outline and adhere the two die cuts together
Close the card and adhere the large sunflower to the outer upper square.
Here are images of other samples using different DSP patterns from the same Design a Daydream DSP pack
This is such an easy WOW card hope you give it a try with any DSP you have available!
