more color mondays – melon mambo, peach pie and flirty flamingo

This will be the final More Color Mondays Color Challenge for the 2025 Sale-a-bration catalog so I created a double fun fold card with the Heart Shaped Level Two Reward bundle in hues of Melon Mambo, Peach Pie and Flirty Flamingo taking the lead from one of the gorgeous pieces of Bloom Impressions Sale-a-bration DSP!

This double fun fold card features a hidden gate-fold card inside the card front as a sweet little surprise!

Measurements:
BASE: Melon Mambo CS: 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
3″ x 4″ for front matte
scraps for die cuts
Flirty Flamingo layer: 3 3/4″ x 4 3/4″
scraps for die cuts
Peach Pie CS Outside card: 3 1/4″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
scrap for die cuts
Inside DSP gate fold card: 4″ x 6″
scored at 1 1/2″ and 4 1/2″
scrap for die cut
Basic White CS inside layer: 2 3/4″ x 3 3/4″
scrap for die cut

Cut the Bloom Impressions DSP into a 4″ x 6″ piece.
Score at 1 1/2″ and 4 1/2″ and fold inward to create a gate fold mini card.
Cut a Basic White layer to 2 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ and adhere three small flowers from the Heart Shaped die set in each of the More Color Monday color challenge colors of Melon Mambo, Peach Pie and Flirty Flamingo and adhere to the top of the white layer.
Stamp the “MY HEART LOVES YOUR HEART” sentiment in the middle of the layer and adhere to the inside middle panel of the DSP.
Cut the Peach Pie to 3 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ and score in half on the long side at 4 1/4″.
Adhere the DSP middle panel to the inside bottom of the Peach Pie card.
Emboss the Flirty Flamingo layer in the Soft Waves 3D embossing folder and adhere to the 1/4 sheet of Melon Mambo CS as the card base.
Adhere the Melon Mambo 3″ x 4″ front matte to the outside of the Peach Pie card front.
Adhere the Peach Pie card to the center of the Flirty Flamingo layer.
I stamped the “MY thoughts OF YOU ARE ALL heart SHAPED” sentiment in Melon mambo ink in the center of a Basic White CS negative heart die from the Heart Shaped bundle.
I die cut and saved the negative space from the Heart Shaped heart die in Peach Pie, Melon Mambo and the DSP.
I decided to add these under the white negative die cut sentiment heart to make it stand out more.
This is the completed hidden gate fold card inside and out.
I die cut the Heart Shaped die in the Bloom Impressions DSP and adhered it to the Melon Mambo matte layer.
I die cut two small flowers from each cardstock color and adhered them to the lower left-hand side of the heart die.
I adhered Iridescent Pears to the center of each small flower die, and stamped the “JUST BECAUSE I CARE” sentiment to the lower right-hand side of the layer to finish the card!
I loved this color combination and how this “surprise inside” card turned out. Thanks to the original inspiration from one of our new Artisan Design Team Members Pamela B who learned this from her upline Rhonda W. I love learning from other creative demonstrators and teaching you how to do these fun cards!

Would love to see your creations using this design! Now go and create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!

Draw squiggly lines on a window sheet with Flirty Flamingo, Melon mambo, and Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends.
Spray the window sheet with alcohol.
Place two 1/4 sheets of Basic White cardstock and allow the ink and alcohol to sink into the paper.
Allow to dry.
Die cut the word Christmas in Highland Heather and four trees from the Peaceful Evergreens dies in Berry Burst, Old Olive and White Glitter Specialty Paper.
Adhere every other tree to the alcohol background and pop up the other two on mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Adhere the word to the top of the layer.
Adhere the alcohol layer to the Highland Heather card base.
Die cut the large sentiment piece from the Peaceful Seasons dies in Highland Heather cardstock.

Heat the powder with the Heat Tool until the embossing powder is melted.
Pop up the sentiment piece and place in the lower right-hand corner.
Apply Iridescent Adhesive-Backed Discs to the sentiment piece.

more color mondays – misty moonlight, flirty flamingo and balmy blue

Color inspiration can come from anywhere – las week I took a picture of a lovely sunrise! I am blessed to live in my forever dream home – we moved to the lake 2 years ago after designing and remodeling a lakefront property that we purchased a year before that. We live on the western shore of Conneaut Lake and have gorgeous sunrises often.

I have MANY MANY pictures of different sunrises and this one became the inspiration for today’s More Color Monday Color Challenge.
Every week I look for colors around me to inspire Monday’s projects and to inspire you to create with more color combinations – sometimes taking us out of our usual and familiar!

Measurements:
BASE: Balmy Blue 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
scrap for the sentiment
Basic White: 3 3/4″ x 4 1/2″
scrap for the sentiment die
Misty Moonlight: 4″ x 4 5/8″
Flirty Flamingo: 4 1/8″ x 4 3/4″
scrap for the sentiment

Stamp the water image in Balmy Blue at the bottom of the Basic White layer.
Ink the sun and cloud image from the Under the Moon stamp set in the Flirty Flamingo ink.
Using the Blending brushes dab Misty Moonlight on the clouds in the foreground of the sun and cloud stamp image.
Stamp in the center of the Basic White layer directly above the water image.
Stamp the cloud image in Balmy Blue in a random pattern leaving space for more clouds in and Misty Moonlight color as well.
Stamp the cloud image in between the Balmy Blue cloud stamped images in Misty Moonlight.
Using a blending brush color the edges of the Basic White layer with Balmy Blue ink.
Stamp the sailboat in Misty Moonlight in the foreground in front of the sun image.
Die cut a circle die from the Spotlight on Nature dies, and use a Balmy Blue and flirty Flamingo strip for the sentiment piece. Stamp the sentiment word in the circle in Misty Moonlight ink and the companion saying on the Balmy Blue strip. Adhere the strips under the circle die and cut the left edge at an angle for added visual interest.
Adhere the Basic White layer to the Misty Moonlight layer but instead of centering the layers I added them left justified for something a little different! It is amazing how just that small change makes the card look entirely different!
Continue to add the Flirty Flamingo layer justifying the layers so the left hand edges match.
Adhere the layers onto the Balmy Blue base card.
Add the sentiment focal piece to the top of the Basic White layer.
Add five Adhesive-Backed Sequins Trio embellishments in the pink color to finish the card!

Try scene building with your stamps and create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!

beach day card for a hot summer week

beach day card for a hot summer week

Well there is no question summer has arrived in Conneaut Lake! It has been in the 90 degree range all week and I have divided my time all week in 20 minute increments while I water the grass seed all over our lawn!
In my spare time I made this sweet beach day card with Watercolor paper!

Measurements:
BASE: Flirty Flamingo 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
Basic Black: 4″ x 5 1/4″
scraps for silhouette die cuts
Watercolor paper: 3 3/4″ x 5″

Using an E acrylic block, Choose 3-4 colors and tap the edge of the ink pad directly onto the block – this will allow you to control how much of the block to color and keep the ink colors separated.
I used Poppy Parade on top, Flirty Flamingo below that, Crushed Curry below the Flamingo and Pecan Pie on the bottom to depict the sand on the beach.

I spritzed the Acrylic block with water and placed the watercolor paper on the block and rubbed the ink into the paper – allow to sit on the block for enough time that the water and ink can absorb into the watercolor paper. Time will vary based on the amount of water sprayed on the block.

Allow the paper to dry and stamp the sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on the top of the watercolored portion of the paper.
Adhere the watercolor paper to the Basic Black layer. Die cut the images you would like to silhouette on the card in Basic Black scraps.
Adhere the die cuts onto the watercolor paper and then adhere the whole layer onto the Flirty Flamingo card base.
Adhere three of the coral/flamingo colored pearls from the new Adhesive-Backed Pearl Trio around the sentiment and my summer sunset beach day card is complete!

Try this super easy and fun watercolor technique today! Now go and create some art work of your very own, one stamp at a time!

Here is another sample that I made using the same technique but different colors I started by tapping the side of my ink pads onto the acrylic block top to bottom: Gorgeous Grape, Poppy Parade, Crushed Curry and Pecan Pie.
I added the Palm tree and paddle board as Silhouettes as well.
