double flap kissing gate fold card

double flap kissing gate fold card

I modified another fun fold card and made a new one where the gate fold edges “kiss” the edges of the front flap instead of each other! I made a belly band to hold the card closed and made the square overlap to look like a Christmas present! I called it the Double Flap Kissing Gate Fold card! Hope you like it!

Measurements:
BASE: Real Red CS 5 1/2″ x 5 3/4″
scored on 5 3/4″ side at 3/4″ and 5″
Front Flap layer: 2 3/4″ x 6″
scored on 6″ side at 1/2″
Side Flap layers:
Basic White: 2 1/2″ square
DSP: 2 3/8″ square
Belly Band 3/4″ x 10″
Belly Band focal point
Real Red CS: 1 3/4″ square
DSP: 1 1/2″ square

Cut the Real Red base CS to 5 1/2″ x 5 3/4″ and score at 3/4″ and 5″.
Fold inward towards the middle.
Cut two strips of DSP to 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ and adhere to the outside gate fold 3/4″ panels.
Cut a piece of Basic White CS to 2 3/4″ x 6″ and score on the 6″ side at 1/2″.
Emboss the 5 1/2″ side and adhere the 1/2″ tab to the center top of the base card.
I closed the two side gate folds and made sure the front flap fit within those side gate folds.
Adhere an inside layer to cover up the flap connection. Adhere a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Basic White CS to the inside of the base CS. Pictured here under the front flap.
Stamp the sentiment on the inside 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece.
Adhere the DSP 2 3/8″ piece to the Basic White 2 1/2″ square matte. Adhere ONLY the right side to the right gate fold.
Create the belly band from a 3/4″ x 10″ piece of cardstock and I added a offset square focal point to look like stacked presents on the card.
Adhere the 1 1/2″ square DSP to the 1 3/4″ square of Real Red CS and adhere to the belly band so it will lie over the side flap.
Add a bow of Linen thread to the DSP square and Iridescent Rhinestone Gems to finish off this fun fold card!

sparkling snowflakes joy fold card with belly band

sparkling snowflakes joy fold card with belly band

Today I am highlighting a fun fold called a Joy Fold! Some think it is called a Joy fold because the card looks a little like a J when unfolded but that is a stretch LOL.
This fold is made from two main pieces of cardstock and can be embellished in an endless realm of possibilities!

Measurements:
BASE: Azure Afternoon 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
Crumb Cake Layer: 4 3/4″ x 6″
White layer: (2) 2 3/4″ x 4 1/2″
(1) 1 7/8″ x 5 1/4″
scrap for fussy cut snowflakes

Fold the Azure Afternoon base card into a traditional Z fold – score at 2 1/8″ and 4 1/4″.
Fold the card in half at 4 1/4″ and fold backwards at 2 1/8″ to make the Z pattern.

Score the 6″ side at 3″ and fold the 4 3/4″ x 6″ in half on the 6″ side.

Take the 1 7/8″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock and emboss with the Cheery Patterns embossing folder.

Adhere to the front of the Z fold.

Stamp the snowflake images from the Sparkling Snowflakes in Crumb cake and Azure Afternoon on one of the 2 3/4″ x 4 1/2″ Basic White layers. Adhere to the top of the Crumb Cake Cardstock with the opening on the left (this seems backwards but it is correct!)
Stamp a greeting and snowflake on the other Basic White layer of the same size and adhere to the inside of the Crumb Cake card.
Adhere the crumb cake layer to the center of the larger Azure Afternoon panel.
On Basic white scrap stamp two small snowflakes in Azure Afternoon ink and fussy cut.
Close the Z fold under the Crumb Cake layer and add a Stampin’ Dimensional to the embossed White layer, remove the release paper and adhere one of the small snowflakes over the Dimensional so that the majority of the snowflake hangs over the Crumb Cake card.
This will act as a latch.
I also used a 1/2″ x 11″ crumb cake strip as a belly band, banner punched the end and popped up the second fussy cut snowflake to the band.
Slip the band over the card to help secure it closed.
I added Iridescent Pastel Gems in blue to the snowflake card front to finish off my Sparkling Snowflakes Joy Fold card with a little sparkle!

Hope this inspires you to try this fold soon.

more color mondays – blueberry bushel, mambo melon, and granny apple green

more color mondays – blueberry bushel, mambo melon, and granny apple green

Welcome to More Color Mondays – we explore different color combinations and over on my Facebook business page you can share your artwork with everyone in the comment section of today’s Facebook post!

By now you probably know I am a Brights girls – or when I started stamping over 22 years ago I was a BOLD BRIGHTS girl from the very start!
I also love the look of color blocking and this card has it all!

Measurements:
BASE: Blueberry Bushel 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
DSP Layer: Gorgeous Gingham 4″ x 5 1/4″
Basic White layers: (3) 1 1/2″ x 3 1/2″
Colored CS: 1 of each color Blueberry Bushel,
Mambo Melon and Granny Apple Green
1 3/8″ x 3 3/8″
Scrap Blueberry bushel and Basic White for the
sentiment you choose and scrap white for the
daisy die cuts

Stamp the outline and the daisy fill in in each individual color: Blueberry Bushel, Mambo Melon and Granny Apple Green. Die cut each.
Using the new Cheery Patterns embossing folders, emboss in the Mini Stampin’ Cut and Emboss two of one pattern and one of the other – both are so cute it was hard to decide!

Then adhere to the Basic White mattes.

Adhere the same color flower to the upper embossed area of each color.
Adhere the Gorgeous Gingham DSP to the Blueberry Bushel card base.
Adhere the flower embossed sections equidistant to each other – the easiest way to do this is to place the Blueberry Bushel in the middle of the card first and then adhere the two outside sections second and third.
Stamp the sentiment of your choice I chose the Birthday sentiment from the Charming Sentiments stamp set and matted it with the Blueberry Bushel. Pop up on Stampin’ Dimensionals and place below the flower sections.
Add embellishments I chose the Ombre Matte Decorative Dots and placed them around the sentiment piece.

I love this bright and happy card!

Try this color combination soon and upload your photo to the comment section of the September 4th, 2023 facebook post!
