post 500! double arrowhead full of life card

Can you believe this is my 500th POST!!!
That is 166 weeks worth of Monday, Wednesday and Friday tutorials and cards and that is 3.2 years worth of content! I am proud of this blog I started and the business that I have built! The best part for me is the friendships that I have made and customer relationships that have been built over the last 23 years! I am grateful for every day that I can wake up and create something fun and beautiful and i am forever thankful for this awesome company!

I wanted to make a special card for the 500th post and one of my favorite stamp bundles right now is the Sketched Butterflies!
I was inspired by a very talented demonstrator in my side line named Susan Campfield and she made this awesome double arrowhead card a few months ago and I wanted to try my hand at it – so this is my version!

Measurements:
BASE: Basic White CS: 4 1/4″ x 11″
scored at 5 1/2″
(2) 4 1/4″ x 5″
scored on 5″ side at 1 1/2″, 3″ 3 3/4″ and 4 1/2″
(1) 2 1/4″ x 4″ embossed
Full of Life DSP
(2) 1 1/4″ x 4″
(4) 1/2″ x 4″

I folded the (2) 4 1/4″ x 5″ in a Mountain-Mountain-Valley-Mountain configuration. See the folded sheet at the top of the next photo.

Using the Multipurpose (green) glue, on the smallest edge (in between the 3 3/4″ and 4 1/2″ score lines) – glue to the back side of the first panel. This will make an arrowhead shaped piece of paper.
Do that to the second 4 1/4″ x 5″ piece of paper as well.
Adhere the 1/2″ x 4″ pieces of DSP to the gusseted part of both of the arrowheads.
With the points of the arrowheads facing in towards the middle of the card adhere the arrowheads to the outside edges of the card front.
Adhere the 1 1/4″ x 4″ pieces of DSP to the 2 front panels of each arrowheads.
Emboss the 2 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White card stock with the Dotted Circle 3D embossing folder or another one of your choosing.
Adhere to the middle of the card in between the two arrowheads,
Stamp the sentiment on Basic White card stock scrap and die cut some of the Sketched Butterflies in Basic Black card stock and adhere to the middle embossed panel.
Add some Drusy Adhesive-backed embellishments to the card front.
I took an extra piece of DSP and adhered it to the inside of the card and added an extra butterfly die to the paper.
The gusseted arrowheads allow the card to stand freely for display!
HAPPY 500th post! Hope you love this card as much as I do! Thanks for the inspiration Susan! and I hope I inspire you as well! Now it’s your turn to create some art work of your very own – one stamp at a time!

thoughtful moments hybrid embossing folder

thoughtful moments hybrid embossing folder

On page 18 of the new 2024 January to April mini catalog we have a very cool new hybrid 3D embossing folder! Do you know what a hybrid 3D embossing folder can do? You can use the embossing folder and the dies separately just like normal dies and folders but put them together and you get both in one pass through of the machine! And what could be more versatile than a word folder! With “thank you”, oh happy day, thinking of you, hello, love you, you make me happy, with sympathy, celebrate, get well and Just Because! So this hybrid cuts and embosses all at once for you!

I made a pretty card to show you this awesome new product! The first few photos are of the hybrid folder itself and the words cut and embossed on Basic White cardstock.

Measurements:
BASE: Basic White CS 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
Basic White layer: 4″ x 5 1/4″
Gold Foil scrap for the hybrid embossing folder

Place three strips of Tear & Tape across the short end of the 4″ x 5 1/4″ layer.
Peel the release paper away.
Place a bunch of Golded Leafing in a plastic resealable container and put the Basic White layer at the bottom underneath the gilding. Rub the gilding onto the tape strips until the stickiness of the tape is gone and the gilding is on all sections of tape.
Place the 4″ x 5 1/4″ layer into the Layered Florals 3D embossing folder and run through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine.
Place a scrap piece of Gold Foil into the Thoughtful moments hybrid embossing folder and run through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine.
Adhere the 4″ x 5 1/4″ embossed layer to the card front. Adhere the sentiment with mini Stampin’ Dimensionals, place on the lower left hand side of the card front.
Add Brushed Metallic dots to the card front. I noticed that there will still fragments of the gilding on the card. If this occurs take a bristled paint brush and brush the loose gilding off the card.
I love this look and the hybrid embossing folder is so cool – try your hand at making some of your own artwork today – one stamp at a time!
