peekaboo circle tab card

peekaboo circle tab card

Peek-a-boo circle tab card is a fun fold card that I received in my guy card swap. The original card is pictured below and I promised in my card swap blog post that I would make a post describing how to make this card!

Measurements:
4 1/4″ x 11″ Basic White cardstock
scored at 4 1/4″ flip 180 degrees and score
at 2 1/4″
4 1/4″ square of DSP
4 1/4″ x 1/2″ DSP (2 different colors)
scraps of Basic White and Azure Afternoon

Score at 2 1/4″ and 6 3/4″ or turn 180 degrees after scoring the 2 1/4″ mark and score at
4 1/4″.
Die cut on the outside of the card the second largest circle, put the circle on the left side of the score line intersecting the diameter.
Stamp the sentiment on the smaller white circle die and adhere it to the Azure Afternoon cardstock.
Adhere the 4 1/4″ square on the card front.

Adhere tape to the bottom only of the circle.
With the top flap open, adhere the circles making an even border around the open circle above.

Stamp in Azure Afternoon ink an inside sentiment under the circle die cut.
Fold the flap down and adhere the 4 1/4″ x 1/2″ strips at the bottom of the flap.
Adhere the first strip slightly below the circle die cut then adhere the second strip below the first.
Adhere three Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the card front.
This fun fold card is easy and sweet and you should try this card! Go create your own art – one stamp at a time!

twist card – two ways

twist card – two ways

This simple fun fold looks like a normal card but open it up and it twists open for a surprisingly easy fun fold technique!

Measurements:

BASE:
Highland Heather 4 1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5 1/2″
and scored or tic marked at 4 1/4″
Score from the corner to the 4 1/4″ score line or
tic mark depending on the angle of the cut
will determine the position of the twist.
Gorgeous Grape or Basic White layer
4 1/8″ square
DSP or Basic White smaller outside layer
4″ square
Basic White Inside layer: 3 3/4″ x 5″
DSP (2) 1″ x 4″ pieces

I did two versions of this card scoring the diagonal in opposite directions to show you the final twist for each score direction!
If you score the diagonal from the top left corner of the card to the 4 1/4 inch mark in the bottom right hand corner of the card the twist part of the card will be in the top quadrant.
If you score the diagonal from the top right on the 4 1/4″ score mark to the bottom left hand corner the twist portion of the card will be on the bottom portion of the card (it is important to note where the twist portion will be as this will determine how you position the stamping on the inside layer of your card!)
Using a bone folder – fold the diagonal score line.
Layer the 4″ square onto the 4 1/8″ square and adhere only the triangle that will touch the folded triangle. (If you adhere the whole square it will adhere to the base card and not be able to open.
Adhere the 1″ strips of DSP to the inside and outside portions of the card (if your DSP has a pattern make sure that will be right side up when the card if opened)
In the sample above the diagonal is from the bottom left hand corner up to the 4 1/4″ mark and that creates the twist portion of the card to be on the bottom as the card swings open, therefore you will need to add the inside portion of the card with the stamping closest to the 5 1/2″ score mark parallel to the score line!
I added pastel pearls and a heart cut out as an embellishment as a pull tab.
In the sample above the diagonal score line goes from the top left hand corner to the bottom at the 4 1/4″ score mark. This creates a twist at the top of the card so the inside layer is stamped up top closest to the inside scroe mark at the 5 1/2″ mark and parallel to that score line.
I added Pastel Pearls to the outside of this card as well.
I added ribbon and a heart cut out for a pul tab as well on this version.

Hope you love the way this turned out and that it inspires you to go and create some art of your own – one stamp at a time!

artfully layered corner pop up fun fold card

artfully layered corner pop up fun fold card

Looking for an easy and different card to make and send out to someone special! This corner pop-up fun fold is just the ticket – easy and provides a fun pop up WOW factor as you open the card!

Measurements:
BASE:
Misty Moonlight 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
Basic White 5 1/4″ x 4″ cut at a diagonal
scrap for the sentiment piece
Evening Evergreen scraps for die cut and
sentiment layer
DSP – I used a scrap of New Horizons for some
added green texture to the dies

Using a pen or pencil make a very small tic mark 2″ on either side of the 4 1/4″ score line.

Then fold the card inside out and make a tic mark 3″ down directly on the score line (mark from the same side you marked the 2″ marks)

PLace the tic marks on the cutting track of your Stampin’ Trimmer and using the lighter gray scoring blade, place the scoring blade on the tic mark at the score line and score from the 3″ tic mark to the end of the paper at the 2″ tic mark.

Do that on both sides of the score line – this will make three score lines converging at the middle score line at the 3″ mark – looks like a triangle with a line down the middle.

Fold the middle score line as a mountain toward the inside of the card and the two outside score lines in a valley fold.
Lay the Basic White cardstock on the card front and make a tic mark on the top right hand side of the layer 1/8″ from the angled fold and make a tic mark along the right side of the layer 1/8″ below where the angle meets the right edge of the paper and then cut both pieces with this diagonal cut.
Adhere one to the inside of the card.
Decorate the Basic White layer for the card front.
I stamped the open leaf stamp from the Artfully Layered stamp set and cut some leaf dies to decorate the front and inside pop up feature.

When adhering your pop up feature only place glue or adhesive on the portion of the die that will be attached to the bottom triangle and lay it flat face down on the card base and close the card and rub where the adhesive is to secure the pop up die cut to the angled pop up feature.

Adhere the front Layer to the card front and adhere the die cuts.
I layered a sentiment onto the card front and added Genial Gems for a little extra sparkle. I did two versions of this card – pictures are shown below of both versions.
This is easy – hope you try it! Go and make some art of your own today – one stamp at a time!

framing with designer series paper scraps

framing with designer series paper scraps

Using Designer Series Paper scraps to make a card is a bonus!

Card base: Granny Apple Green 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
Card inset: Pool Party 5 1/4″ x 4″
Basic White: 1 1/2″ x 3″
Designer Series paper:
2 pieces of 1″ x 4″ 2 different patterns
2 pieces of 1″ x 2 3/4″ 2 different patterns
scrap for sentiment piece

Stamp the Basic White piece with Tuxedo Black Memento ink. The sample uses Blessings of Home and color them in with the Stampin’ Blends.
Adhere the Pool Party insert to the Granny Apple Green piece and then adhere the 1 inch strips in a frame outline.
Adhere the center focal piece to the center of the framed in section.

Using a scrap, stamp the sentiment and the flower stamp in second generation (stamp off and then without re-inking stamp onto the paper in a lighter tone) over the sentiment.

Add Black Matte dots for embellishments to finish off the easy and quick card.

Try this fun way to use scraps of Designer Series Paper. Hope this inspires you to create your own art – one stamp at a time.
