birthday sparkle kit together alternatives

birthday sparkle kit together alternatives

Well the new design for the website published yesterday! How do you like it? Let me know! While this is not a Paper Pumpkin alternative it is a kit alternative so I placed it within the Paper Pumpkin tab for easy access! Tuesday of this coming week on the 9th of April, I will be hosting the first Kit Together at my home. What is a Kit Together? Stampin’ Up! started selling all-inclusive kits for easy stamping options last year and every month have been releasing new products. To date there are at least 27 past and current kit collections for sale on the website in English and many are available in French as well! The Birthday Sparkle kit released last month and I decided to do an alternatives class with the kit. Interested in joining us from 1-3PM? Send me an RSVP! We are changing the kit slightly and doing four cards instead of 2 cards and 2 tags! One card will be exactly as the directions in the kit, but the others are all alternative cards! If you want to join us the class is $10 for the 4 cards or you can buy the kit for $23 and get the stamp set, ink spot, acrylic block, and all the supplies to make 6 cards and 6 tags.
Below are the pictures from the Stampin’ Up! website of what the kit includes:

And this is the stamp set that comes in the kit:
I added two Brushed Gold Cards and Envelopes to the mix to change the tags that come in the kit into cards. This item is currently back-ordered but will continue into the new Annual Catalog and should be back soon!
This first card was done exactly according to the kit instructions which are full colored instruction sheets and very helpful for those that do not want to go off-script!

Sweet layers and pop-up balloons make this a beautiful and easy birthday card anyone would be proud to send and happy to receive!

I modified one of the tags and popped it up on the Brushed Gold Cards and Envelopes. Changed the stamping and made a fun and easy card out of one of the tags!
For the second tag card I added a 2″ panel embossed with the polka dots from the Basics 3D embossing folder and popped up the tag over that panel on the Brushed Gold card.
This last card I changed up and added a window sheet and some foam adhesive strips to the mix to make a shaker card with the Iridescent Shaker Circles, which will be retiring. These are a must have if you like to make shaker cards. They are full of fun and whimsy and I love this card!
Come join us Tuesday and if you can’t this is a great kit to buy and have for all those birthday cards needed for the rest of the year! With just a few extra supplies you can double the cards in the kit and get 12 cards instead of 6 cards and 6 tags! there are left over pieces that could easily make another card of two as well!

Now go and create some birthday cards of your own – one stamp at a time!

using designer series paper scraps

using designer series paper scraps

These are easy cards to make and a great way to use those partial pieces of Designer Series Paper.

Measurements:
BASE: Basic White 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
scrap for the balloon image
Pretty Peacock layer: 4″ x 5 1/4″
DSP: (2) 1 7/8″ squares
(2) 1 7/8″ x 3″ in coordinating patterns

Adhere the square in the left hand corner, adhere the rectangular piece to the right.
Adhere the other square in the lower right hand corner, place the last rectangular piece opposite the other in the lower left hand corner.
Stamp the large balloon image in Pretty Peacock ink. Stamp the Happy Birthday sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento ink in the center of the balloon image. Die cut the balloon image.
Adhere the Pretty Peacock layer to the Basic White card base.
Place Stampin’ Dimensionals under the balloon and add it to the center of the four pieces of DSP.
Add three embellishments to the card front.

Fast and easy this is a great card! Try using your DSP scraps to make these cards! Go and create some art work of your very own – one stamp at a time.

library card class – a success

library card class – a success

One of the things I like best about being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator is not the discount or being first to see and play with new product but the joy of watching people find their creative spirit in the art of creating something beautiful. That is what happened on Wednesday for my first card class in Western PA. The last year has been consumed with packing, moving, demolition and remodeling and I missed stamping with others. I was still stamping and creating (which I love) posting cards and tutorials on line, doing videos and hostessing classes on line but I missed the interaction between myself and other stampers. I missed teaching – and although I was rusty it was a success.
How could I tell it was a success – I left with VERY inky fingers and a lot of smiling faces of strangers that became friends and started to believe in their creative abilities!

Here are some pictures from the event and we have already scheduled the next two card classes!

January 25th 1-3 pm – we will begin the year with a Valentine’s card and 3 birthday cards for your friends and family’s upcoming special occasions. 2 cards for $5 all 4 cards for $10

February 22nd 1-3pm we will continue to learn new techniques and make some thank you and birthday cards 2 cards for $5 all 4 cards for $10

Here are the four card samples that we made together – all participants left with current catalogs, a four page tutorial for the cards we made, cards with envelopes and very big smiles!

Hope to see you all at the card classes in the new year!

It’s amazing the art you can create – one stamp at a time!

upcoming october memories and more card class

upcoming october memories and more card class

Last week during the weekly deals these memories and more cards and envelopes and the memories and more card pack were on sale- hopefully you are checking out the September Weekly deals to save additional money on selected products! In October I will be having a beginner card class with the Texture Chic Memories and More cards and envelope pack (#159202) featuring 20 pre-printed cards and 20 coordinating pre-printed envelopes and the Texture Chic Memories and More pack that contains pre-printed double sided cards in 3″ x 4″ sizes and 4″ x 6″ sizes as well as coordinating sticker sheets! Folks this is the easiest way to create homemade cards! Even not on sale this week they are a bargain!
Below are samples of some of the cards we will be making in my on line class in person and virtually – let me know if you want a spot!
The first three pictures are overview shots of the supplies you get in the paper packs!
Each group of two pictures below is a photo of the same card the first one only using the supplies contained in the card kits and the second photo steps the card up a notch with some Chic Dies (#158815) that coordinate with the card and some Iridescent Pearls (#158987)

This green Love card features a 4″ x 6″ card adhered to the Memories and More Card with Envelope and adds a sticker embellishment to the bottom in the first picture and in the second photo I kicked it up a notch with Leaf and Flower Chic Dies to give the card a little depth and dimension!

This card set features 2 – 3″ x 4″ cards these are the same card one side is the back and the other card is the front – they coordinate so easily! I adhered them in opposite directions and added a gold leaf sticker in the first basic photo. The second card adds Iridescent Pearls and a couple of dies!
The next card set featured one 4″x 6″ card and a coordinating 3″ x 4″ card on top. I added a sticker in the bottom center to the basic card and Pearls and two seashell dies to the stepped up card in photo two!
In the next two photos I again took two identical 3″ x 4″ cards and one coordinating 4″ x 6″ card. For the 3″ x 4″ cards I used one back and one front side I cut one card in 1 3/4″ diagonal strips and adhered them atop the 4″ x 6″ card for the basic card and added a sticker. For the stepped up card in the second photo I added a leaf die.
For the next card set I used two different 3″ x 4″ cards and offset them in different directions on the base card I added 3 sticker on the right side card on the basic example and added pearls and a seashell die to the stepped up version!
This card set I added two 3″ x 4″ cards angled vertically on the card base and added a flower sticker diagonally to the top card on the basic version and added pearls and two flower dies to coordinate on the stepped up card!
On my last sample duo I used two different colored 3″ x 4″ cards offset on a diagonal in a horizontal position – I love this sentiment “Thankful for this wonderfully ordinary day!”
How delightful our lives would be if we all stopped to be thankful for the extraordinary in the ordinary!
The basic version got a sticker and the stepped up version two flower dies and pearls! It is so easy to make these cards and to step them up!
Create some art of your own today and seek out the extraordinary in your ordinary lives!
