This card sketch inspired 4 cards from this one sheet of gorgeous Thoughtful Journey DSP this was a carryover product last year and I do not anticipate that it will be carried over again so If you love watercolor landscaped images get this paper before it is gone!

Card sketch #119. is here and what will you do with it – so many possibilities!

Measurements:
BASE: Basic White CS: (2) pieces of 8 1/2″ x 11″
Score one at 4 1/4″ and then cut on the 11″
side at 5 1/2″, score the other at 5 1/2″ and
then cut at 4 1/4″
(4) 3 1/4″ squares, scraps for sentiments
DSP: (1) 6″ x 6″ sheet cut into (4) 3″ squares
then cut each 3″ square into (3) 1″ strips
Mossy Meadow CS: (4) 3 1/2″ squares

Emboss each of the card fronts of the card bases in the Birch Wood 3D embossing folder.

Cut each of the 3″ squares into 1″ strips, keeping in order adhere them to the 3 1/4″ Basic White squares.
Adhere each of the 3 1/4″ white squares to the 3 1/2″ Mossy Meadow CS squares.
Adhere the first square to the center of one of the embossed card fronts.
Stamp a sentiment from the Wonderful Thoughts Bundle and then die cut around the words. Adhere to the card front over the DSP.
Do the same for the rest of the cards! I added a few left over die cuts from a previous card from the Springtime Scenes die set on the last card!
two different card orientations but basically the same sketch!
Adhere three Natural Matte Dots to finish off the card with some coordinating embellishments. These gender neutral cards are perfect for ANY occasion just by changing the sentiment and the Wonderful Thoughts bundle is a great all sentiment set.

Today’s More Color Mondays color challenge features Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, and Early Espresso with a Peek Throught card.

Measurements:
BASE: Basic White CS: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
4″ x 5 1/4″
scrap for the sentiment piece
DSP: 3″ square
Early Espresso CS: Scrap for trees die cuts

Die cut a large circle from the Stylish Shapes in the upper third in the center.
Emboss the Basic White layer with the Birch Wood 3D embossing folder.
Die cut the Early Espresso CS scrap with the three trees die.
Adhere the three trees die behind the circle
and then the DSP piece under the Basic White layer and the trees.
Pop up the Basic White embossing layer.
Stamp the birthday sentiment in Real Red ink and brush the edges of the banner die from the Stylish Shapes die set.
Adhere five Iridescent Adhesive-Backed Discs on the card front.
Designer Series Paper peek through cards are so much fun and such a great way to find colors that look great together!

I love this card and the shadowbox I created for my father’s funeral.

Measurements:

BASE: Basic White CS: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
scrap for the Deckled Circle dies/embossed
Real Red scrap for Sketched Butterflies
dies
Melon Mambo scrap for Sketched Butterflies
dies
Flirty Flamingo scrap for Sketched Butterflies

Pumpkin Pie scrap for Sketched Butterflies

Lemon Lime Twist scrap for Sketched Butterflies dies
Coastal Cabana scrap for Sketched Butterflies

Die cut the third largest deckle circle and cut in half.
Stamp the butterfly stamp in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.
Emboss the butterfly stamped layer in the Birch Wood 3D embossing folder.
Pop up the butterfly layer onto Stampin’ Dimensionals and match the right-hand edge to the card edge.
Stamp the sentiment onto the upper left hand edge of the card base.
Die cut the Sketched Butterflies dies in Real Red, Melon Mambo, Flirty Flamingo, Pumpkin Pie, Lemon Lime Twist, Coastal Cabana, Blueberry Bushel and adhere them around the deckled circle embossed layer tucking them in and under the edges in rainbow order.
Add adhesive-backed shiny sequins and sequins trio to the card front to finish this card.

I added this card to a Coastal Cabana 8 1/2″ x 11″ and added pictures for my father’s funeral and mounted it into a shadow box.

stamp and spritz watercolor technique

Watercoloring techniques are many and varied.
This following technique is called Stamp and Spritz. It creates a soft stamped image.

Measurements:
BASE: Pretty Peacock CS: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
scraps: for sentiment mattes
Lemon Lime Twist: 4″ x 5 1/4″
Watercolor paper: 3 1/2″ x 5″
Basic White: scraps for the sentiments

Stamp one of the base foliage stamps in Lemon Lime Twist ink. Spritz the stamp surface with water. Stamp the images on the half sheet of watercolor paper.

Stamp in Garden Green ink with the top stamp of the two step stamping over the Lemon Lime Twist ink.
Stamp the bottom foliage stamp in Lemon Lime Twist ink and the top stamp in Pretty Peacock ink.
Stamp the sentiment in Pretty Peacock and Lemon Lime Twist ink. Fussy cut the sentiment. Mount the sentiment onto Pretty Peacock CS.
Pop the sentiments up onto Stampin’ DImensionals.
Emboss the Lemon Lime Twist with Birch Wood 3D embossing folder.
Adhere the embossed layer onto the Pretty Peacock cardstock base.
Adhere the watercolor paper onto the embossed layer.
Adhere the Pretty Peacock sequins from the Adhesive-Backed Sequins Trio to finish off the card.
