july fall into christmas swap cards

july fall into christmas swap cards

My first swap card was a late arrival for the June swap – Jennie T featured the Spotlight on Nature Bundle – stamp set and dies with the Full of Life 6″ x 6″ DSP for the background with a Pretty in Pink base card and a Granny Apple Green sentiment die.
This July swap card comes from our faithful swap leader Denise W. and the technique is cracked glass with paper. I have highlighted the technique before – it’s also called stack and shuffle. (my sample for the cut, stack and shuffle cards were detailed on February 14th, 2022 – check it out if you missed it or need a refresher!)
She used the Seasons of Green and Gold DSP and the Gold Mercury Vellum!
This Die cut Rustic crate in Silver Foil and Lost Lagoon compliments the Winter Meadow DSP perfectly along with the poinsettas colored to match for Lori V’s swap card
Ginger S’s swap card features the Sophisticated Sled Bundle using Country Woods, Unbounded Love and Glimmer paper and DSP to lots of color and contrast.
Lyn L’s swap card uses the Sparkling Snowflakes stamp set embossed in white embossing powder over stamps in Misty Moonlight set above the Sketched Plaid Background in Balmy Blue.
The next swap card is clean and simple in Basic White embossed background of Snowflakes Sky 3D embossing folder and Shaded Spruce popped up circle with the Sophisticated Sled dies adhered to it from CarrollAnn A.
Marie W’s swap card in elegant Very Vanilla embossed Basics 3D embossing folder background and Mosst Meadow cardstock with images die cut from the Seasons of Green and Gold DSP.
Robyn M’s swap card uses epth and dimension with the detailed sled die cut from the Sophisticated Sled Bundle and red berries from the Enamel Effects Basics Pack.
This is my swap card for July that I featured in my 07/24/24 blog post detailing the Bokeh technique using the Golden Greenery bundle!
Susan W’s swap card features the Iconic Imagery bundle with the Seasons of Green and Gold DSP and two of the three Basics 3D embossing folders for a great Christmas card!
This card from Carol S uses the Changing Leaves Online Exclusive bundle with a sneak peak of the Birch Wood 3D embossing folder which will be available on September 4th from the upcoming Mini Catalog!
Veronica S’s swap card features lovely coloring with Stampin’ Blends to compliment the Seasons of Green and Gold DSP with the images from the Filled with Cheer stamp set!
Robin C’s swap card is a study in lovely Fall colors of Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry and Pecan Pie using the Autumn Leaves stamp set and dies!
And the final featured swap card from Kathi D uses an elegant blend of Cherry Cobbler, Gold and Very Vanilla to create a classic Christmas card with the Golden Greenery bundle!
Hope you enjoyed the ideas from all of my swap cards and that you go and create some art of your very own – one stamp at a time!

center step card with gorgeous oxidized copper specialty paper

center step card with gorgeous oxidized copper specialty paper

Well I was finally able to order the very popular Oxidized Copper Specialty paper and boy is it worth it! It is stunning in person – with a base of Pretty Peacock and Copper Clay tones and an overlay of Copper Foil it is unbelievably eye catching!

Today’s card is a center step fun fold and highlights this paper so well!

Start with the 4 1/4″ side at the top of the paper cutter and the edge of the paper at the 1″ mark to the right of the cutting blade. Place the blade at the 4 1/2″ mark on the cutting guide and cut at the 1″ mark from 4 1/2″ to the 10″ mark.

Measurements:
BASE: Copper Clay 4 1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5 1/2″
scrap for the large leaf veins die cut
DSP: Oxidized Copper (2) 3/4″ x 4 1/4″
scrap for the leaf die
Pretty Peacock: 2″ x 4 1/4″ embossed
Basic White – inside 4″ x 4 1/4″

Flip the paper so the opposite 11″ side is on that right hand 1″ mark.
Repeat the cut on this other side at 1″ mark from 4 1/2″ to 10″ marks.
Place the 11″ side at the top of the paper trimmer and at the 4 1/2″ mark, score above the cut and below the cut lines.

Then at the 5 1/2″ mark, score between the cut marks.

At the 9″ and 10″ marks – score above and below the cut lines.
When you start to bend the score marks it will look like this photo below.
Bend the 9″ score line into a valley and the remainder score lines as mountain folds and bend the card closed as shown in photo.
Cut the additional cardstock and DSP, including a large leaf using the Oxidized Copper Specialty paper and the large veins from the Copper Clay cardstock.
Emboss the Pretty Peacock layer in the 3D exposed Brick embossing folder.
Adhere the Pretty Peacock layer to the middle of the center step.
Adhere the 3/4″ x 4 1/4″ DSP pieces to the side steps.
Adhere the veins to the Oxidized Copper leaf and adhere that to the top center of the center step using Glue to get into the embossed surface.
Take a 3/4″ x 4″ Basic white layer and using Pretty Peacock ink stamp the small leaves and a sentiment on the piece of Cardstock. Adhere this centered to the bottom edge.
Add five Pretty Peacock Adhesive Backed Sequins Trio and the card is complete!

Try this fun fold and create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!

autumn leaves peekaboo circle tab card

autumn leaves peekaboo circle tab card

I detailed this card a while back and I thought I would show it again in a Fall version using the Autumn Leaves bundle!

Copper Clay is a great Fall color and it is the basis for this Monochromatic card today.

Measurements:
BASE: Copper Clay CS 4 1/4″ x 11″
scored at 4 1/4″ and 8 1/2″
Basic White Layer: 4 1/8″ x 4 1/8″
Copper Clay Layer: 4″ square
Copper Clay scraps for leaves die cuts and 4th
smallest deckle circle die
Basic White scrap for 3rd smallest deckle circle
die
Copper Clay DSP 2 3/8″ x 4 1/8″

Using a blending brush and Copper Clay ink, place the Copper Clay layer under the Foursquare Decorative mask and apply ink through the mask layer onto the Copper Clay CS.
Adhere the Copper Clay inked layer to the Basic White layer.
Score the 4 1/4″ x 11″ CS at 4 1/4″ and 8 1/2″ and folding the square up, adhere the Basic White and Copper Clay layer to the card front as shown in photo below.
Fold down the top fold and adhere the DSP to the top section as shown in the photo below.
Lay the card base flat and punch a circle with the 2 3/8″ circle punch.

Stamp the autumn sentiment in Copper Clay ink onto the Basic White deckle circle die and mount that onto the Copper Clay deckle circle die. Close the card and adhere only the bottom half of the circle and adhere through the opening onto the Copper Clay and White mats below as shown in the photo.

I adhered a large leaf in the left hand corner of the inside on the Copper Clay inked layer and three leaves on the lower right hand side.
I tied the Copper Clay ribbon around the upper flap.
I added Copper Clay dots to the sentiment circle and this fun fold card is complete!

Try this fun card variety and see what you can create – one stamp at a time!
