center step card with gorgeous oxidized copper specialty paper

center step card with gorgeous oxidized copper specialty paper

Well I was finally able to order the very popular Oxidized Copper Specialty paper and boy is it worth it! It is stunning in person – with a base of Pretty Peacock and Copper Clay tones and an overlay of Copper Foil it is unbelievably eye catching!

Today’s card is a center step fun fold and highlights this paper so well!

Start with the 4 1/4″ side at the top of the paper cutter and the edge of the paper at the 1″ mark to the right of the cutting blade. Place the blade at the 4 1/2″ mark on the cutting guide and cut at the 1″ mark from 4 1/2″ to the 10″ mark.

Measurements:
BASE: Copper Clay 4 1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5 1/2″
scrap for the large leaf veins die cut
DSP: Oxidized Copper (2) 3/4″ x 4 1/4″
scrap for the leaf die
Pretty Peacock: 2″ x 4 1/4″ embossed
Basic White – inside 4″ x 4 1/4″

Flip the paper so the opposite 11″ side is on that right hand 1″ mark.
Repeat the cut on this other side at 1″ mark from 4 1/2″ to 10″ marks.
Place the 11″ side at the top of the paper trimmer and at the 4 1/2″ mark, score above the cut and below the cut lines.

Then at the 5 1/2″ mark, score between the cut marks.

At the 9″ and 10″ marks – score above and below the cut lines.
When you start to bend the score marks it will look like this photo below.
Bend the 9″ score line into a valley and the remainder score lines as mountain folds and bend the card closed as shown in photo.
Cut the additional cardstock and DSP, including a large leaf using the Oxidized Copper Specialty paper and the large veins from the Copper Clay cardstock.
Emboss the Pretty Peacock layer in the 3D exposed Brick embossing folder.
Adhere the Pretty Peacock layer to the middle of the center step.
Adhere the 3/4″ x 4 1/4″ DSP pieces to the side steps.
Adhere the veins to the Oxidized Copper leaf and adhere that to the top center of the center step using Glue to get into the embossed surface.
Take a 3/4″ x 4″ Basic white layer and using Pretty Peacock ink stamp the small leaves and a sentiment on the piece of Cardstock. Adhere this centered to the bottom edge.
Add five Pretty Peacock Adhesive Backed Sequins Trio and the card is complete!

Try this fun fold and create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!

autumn leaves peekaboo circle tab card

autumn leaves peekaboo circle tab card

I detailed this card a while back and I thought I would show it again in a Fall version using the Autumn Leaves bundle!

Copper Clay is a great Fall color and it is the basis for this Monochromatic card today.

Measurements:
BASE: Copper Clay CS 4 1/4″ x 11″
scored at 4 1/4″ and 8 1/2″
Basic White Layer: 4 1/8″ x 4 1/8″
Copper Clay Layer: 4″ square
Copper Clay scraps for leaves die cuts and 4th
smallest deckle circle die
Basic White scrap for 3rd smallest deckle circle
die
Copper Clay DSP 2 3/8″ x 4 1/8″

Using a blending brush and Copper Clay ink, place the Copper Clay layer under the Foursquare Decorative mask and apply ink through the mask layer onto the Copper Clay CS.
Adhere the Copper Clay inked layer to the Basic White layer.
Score the 4 1/4″ x 11″ CS at 4 1/4″ and 8 1/2″ and folding the square up, adhere the Basic White and Copper Clay layer to the card front as shown in photo below.
Fold down the top fold and adhere the DSP to the top section as shown in the photo below.
Lay the card base flat and punch a circle with the 2 3/8″ circle punch.

Stamp the autumn sentiment in Copper Clay ink onto the Basic White deckle circle die and mount that onto the Copper Clay deckle circle die. Close the card and adhere only the bottom half of the circle and adhere through the opening onto the Copper Clay and White mats below as shown in the photo.

I adhered a large leaf in the left hand corner of the inside on the Copper Clay inked layer and three leaves on the lower right hand side.
I tied the Copper Clay ribbon around the upper flap.
I added Copper Clay dots to the sentiment circle and this fun fold card is complete!

Try this fun card variety and see what you can create – one stamp at a time!
