Blending brushes are my absolute favorite way to apply color! And this technique is awesome for creating sunset backgrounds!

Measurements:
Base: Mambo Melon CS 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
Basic White: 4″ x 5 1/4″ and scraps for the die
cuts

Die cut the largest circle die from the Stylish Shapes Die set and the second smallest banner from Basic White cardstock.

Using the Daffodil Delight ink and a Blending Brush, apply ink to the brush using a circular motion. Starting off the circle die on the scratch paper, apply the ink in a circular motion to the bottom of the circle die.

Using the Pumpkin Pie ink and the same circular motion apply ink directly above the Daffodil Delight ink and blend down into the yellow space a touch combining the two colors.
Using the Poppy Parade ink and the same circular motion apply ink directly above the Pumpkin Pie ink and blend down into the orange space a touch combining the two colors.
Using the Gorgeous Grape ink and the same circular motion apply ink on the right top side of the circle blending into the Poppy Parade ink and blend over the red space a touch combining the two colors.
Take the small banner and stamp the sentiment in Gorgeous Grape ink.
Blend Gorgeous Grape ink over the surface of the Banner die.
Using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and the “land” stamp from the Paradise Palms stamp set, stamp at the base in the center of the circle die a small island silhouette.
Stamp Silhouette Palm Trees in the Tuxedo Black Memento ink on the island.
Run the 4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic White piece of cardstock through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine with the Basics 3D embossing folder that looks like star fish.
Add two small pieces of Tape to the upper outside edges of the 4″ x 5 1/4″ paper and adhere the Black and White Gingham ribbon piece stretching across the front of the paper. This technique saves ribbon as you are not wrapping it the entire way under the paper.
Attach Tear & Tape to the back side of the embossed paper this is the best way to adhere an embossed uneven piece of paper to the card base. adhere to the Mambo Melon card base.
Pop up the Sunset circle onto Stampin’ Dimensionals and add to the top right side of the card front over the 3D embossed Basic White cardstock and just a little overlapping with the ribbon.
Pop up the left side of the sentiment piece and tape to the right side and adhere the sentiment piece so the right side is touching the bottom of the circle.
Add Matte Black Dots to the card front.
Take the Wink of Stella and squeeze a bit of clear glittered ink into the barrel and tap the barrel onto the cap over the sunset circle to make a sparkling splatter pattern to the circle die.
Try this blending technique soon and fall in love with the Sparkling Sunset Silhouette technique! Create some art of your very own – one stamp at a time.
