simple stamping faux layer card

So here is an easy way to use masking to create a faux layered card with just a single half-sheet of cardstock!

Measurements:
BASE: Basic White 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
(Yep that is it! What! you say impossible! Yet you can make a pretty card with just a single half sheet of cardstock!)

This technique works great with our new masking paper but I did not have any on hand so I used a small amount of tape and a scrap piece of cardstock size of your choice and temporarily adhere it to the center of the card!

Choose three colors of complimentary inks, I chose Granny Apple Green, Shaded Spruce and Garden Green for the different sprigs and Crumb Cake for the splotches!
Start with the lightest color and stamp a sprig in Granny Apple Green one above and one below the “mask”.
Stamp the largest sprig in Shaded Spruce – one above and one below the Mask.
Fill in the remaining white space above and below the mask with the Garden Green ink and the Fern stamp.
Fill in the areas with the Crumb Cake ink and the Splotch stamp.
Using a Marker – I used the Shaded Spruce, run a straight edged line of ink with the masking paper edge or a ruler at the top and bottom edge where the masking paper has been.
Stamp the sentiment on the right side in Shaded Spruce in the white space between the two Shaded Spruce marker lines.
Add Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the card.
Add ribbon to this simple stamped card and amaze yourself with the pretty simplicity of this technique. Grab a basic White piece of cardstock and have a go at this simple stamping! Go create some art of your own – one stamp at a time.
