Do you ever give your cards away as a gift? It makes the perfect teachers or hostess gift! But how to package them – right? Today’s post is the simple and perfect gift wrapping solution – we are going to make a box to fit our cards!

Measurements:

Box Base: Colored cardstock 7 1/2″ x 8 3/4″
scored at 1 1/2″ on all four sides
Box Top: Coordinating DSP 6 3/4″ x 7 5/8″
scored at 1″ on all four sides.

Boxes are easy to make the hardest part is figuring out the measurements, these will fit standard American sized A2 cards and clear envelopes. I made the top snug because Ilike them to fit that way if you like the box top slightly less snug increase the dimensions of the box top by 1/8″ to both measurements.

Cut an 8 1/2″ x 11″ piece of cardstock (I used Misty Moonlight for the box base in this example) to 7 1/2″ x 8 3/4″ and score on all sides at 1 1/2″.
Cut the score line on the long side of the paper to the crossing score line – see photo above for the example. Do this on all sides
Place Tear’n’Tape on all the created tabs.
Crease all score lines with your bone folder, remove paper backing for the Tear’n’Tape and place the adhesive inside the box.
Cut your desired piece of DSP ( I used Artfully Composed) to 6 3/4″ x 7 5/8″ and scored on all sides at 1″
Follow the same instructions as for the box base – cut on the long side the tabs to the second score line, fold all sscore lines and adhere the tabs to the inside of the box using Tear’n’Tape.
Fill the box! In this example I filled it with pretty handmade cards – what a great gift!!
Decorate the box with ribbon and tags and give the gift away! The recipient will be so impressed that you made the box and the cards!

It is so fun to be able to share our creations and doubly fun to make the box that the gift comes in. Share your creations and create a box – one stamp at a time!
