full of life 4 piece puzzle slider card

Today’s blog post details a Puzzle Fun Fold using the Full of Life 6″ x 6″ DSP sometimes called a 4 Piece Puzzle Slider card.

I love the starburst pieces of this pack of DSP dividing them up in a puzzle creates a very fun card.

Measurements:
BASE: Pool Party CS: 4 1/4″ x 9 1/2″
scored at 1″, 2″ 7 1/2″ and 8 1/2″
Matte pieces (2) 2 1/8″ x 2 1/4″
(2) 2 1/8″ x 3 1/4″
DSP: 3 3/4″ x 5″
Basic White CS: 4″ x 5 1/4″

Cut the Base card 4 1/4″ x 9 1/2″ then score at 1″, 2″, 7 1/2″ and 8 1/2″.
Cut the DSP layer in half at 1 7/8″ on the 3 3/4″ side.
Put the paper back together and cut the top piece at 3″ from the left side.
cut the lower section at 2″ from the left hand side.
Fold the cardstock base in a mountain position at the 1″ score line and a valley position at the 2″ score line. Fold the score at the 7 1/2″ in a valley fold and a mountain fold at the 8 1/2″ score.
Adhere the DSP to the Matte pieces.
Adhere the 4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic White piece to the center panel on the base card.
Adhere the top matted DSP piece to the top of the left hand panel.
Adhere the lower left hand piece to the lower bottom of the left hand panel.
Adhere the lower right-hand matted piece to the lower portion of the right-hand panel.
Adhere the last matted piece to the top portion of the right-hand panel.
On the medium banner from the Stylish Shapes stamp in Pool Party ink the background stamp.
Stamp in Tuxedo Black Memento ink the “thinking of you” sentiment from the Friends for Life stamp set.
Adhere to the lower right-hand corner and cut off the right-hand edge that hangs over.
Color the Iridescent Pearls with a Dark Pool Party Stampin’ Blends Marker. Allow to dry.
Place five colored Iridescent Pearl embellishments onto the card front to finish off the card!
This card stands up on it’s own and such a fun way to display great looking Designer Series Papers! Try this fun fold with your stash and see what artwork you can create – one pattern and one stamp at a time!

card template #3 sketched butterflies card

card template #3 sketched butterflies card

Last week I made another card using a card template and showed that they can be an easy way to design a card.
On page 22 of the Stampin’ Up! 2024-2025 Annual Catalog we have 22 card templates for making cards! I decided to show you how just changing a few things on the card or the DSP can change the look even though all the cards started out with the same template.
I used card template #3 I have counted left to right on the bottom of page 22 and the third layout from the right is the one I will be using!

Measurements:
BASE: Coastal Cabana CS 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
scrap for butterfly die cuts
DSP: (3) 1 1/8″ x 4 3/4″
Basic White 3 7/8″ x 5″ and scrap for the die cut

card #2
BASE: Pool Party 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
DSP (3) 1″ x 4 1/8″
Basic White 3 1/2″ x 5″ scrap for sentiment

Card #3
BASE: Pool Party 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
scrap for sentiment matte
DSP (3) 1″ x 4 1/8″
Basic White 3 1/2″ x 5″ scrap for sentiment

Card #4
BASE: Misty Moonlight 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″ edge torn off front
DSP (3) 1″ x 5″
Basic White 3 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ scrap for sentiment
and strip for inside edge of card

card #5
BASE: Boho Blue 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 2 1/8″ and 4 1/4″ z-fold
scrap for sentiment matte
DSP (3) 1″ x 5″ (1) 3/4″ x 5 1/2″
Basic White 3 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ scrap for sentiment
Petal Pink scrap for leaf die cut

Cut the DSP to 3 strips of 1 1/8″ x 4 3/4″ and die cut the trio of butterflies out of Coastal Cabana card stock from the Sketched Butterflies die set.
Adhere the DSP strips to the Basic White layer.
Adhere the layer to the card front.
Brush Coastal Cabana ink using a Blending Brush onto a small Deckle Circle die cut and stamp the birthday sentiment from the Sketched Butterflies set onto the die. Individually ink up one of the smaller butterflies from the small butterfly cluster and stamp onto the circle die.
Pop up in the center of the sun burst.
Adhere the three Silver Drusy Adhesive-Backed embellishments onto the card to finish it off.
For card #2 take some Thoughtful Journey DSP and cut 3 strips of 1″ x 4 5/8″ and mount onto the Basic White layer.
Mount the DSP/White layer onto the card front.
Die cut a small circle from the Spotlight on Nature die set and stamp “You’re A True blessing” from the Unbounded Love stamp set in Coastal Cabana ink. I used some retired embellishments to finish the card.
For card #3 I cut (3) 1″ x 5″ strips and adhered them onto the Basic White cardstock layer.
I tied a Summer Splash ribbon around that layer and mounted it onto the card front.
I cut Pool Party and Basic White concentric banners from the Nested Essentials die set and stamped the “Hope” from the Unbounded Love stamp set in Coastal Cabana ink. I added a Petal Pink die cut leaf from the Unbounded Love die set and added some retired embellishments to finish off the card!
For the inside of card #3 I added a 3/4″ x 5 1/2″ strip of Thoughtful Journey DSP and stamped the inside sentiment from the Unbounded Love stamp set.
Card #4
Is the same as the last card but I pushed the edge of the Basic White layer to 1/8″ from the left fold and then tore the right hand edge of the card. I added a 1/4″ Basic White strip (which I always have a ton of to add some visual interest to the card.
I stamped a sentiment from the Always With Me stamp set and popped up the Spotlight on Nature die on the lower right hand side of the card front to finish it off!
For my last card sample card #5 I made a Z-fold scoring the Boho Blue cardstock at 2 1/8″ and 4 1/4″.
I adhered 3 strips of 1″ x 5″ Thoughtful Journey DSP to the Basic White layer and adhered it to the first panel careful to only adhere the left hand section of the card to the z-fold.
I added the banners from the Nested Essentials and the Petal Pink leaf die from the unbounded Love set.
I adhered a DSP strip 3/4″ x 5 1/2″ to the inside right edge and stamped the inside greeting. I added retired embellishments to finish this last card!

creativity now fun

creativity now fun

Back on June 22nd, Stampin’ Up! hosted an event open to all demonstrators called Creativity Now. One of the objectives for this event was to have fun stamping virtually with other demonstrators from around the world and to give us a sneak peak into some of the new products and sets that would be coming in the upcoming September to December 2024 mini catalog!
One of my downline, Robyn joined me to watch the virtual broadcast and create all of the projects along with all of the guest demonstrator presenters!
The sneak peak set from the upcoming mini catalog is called Wintry Tree Tops Bundle and features a gorgeous set of wintry stamps and coordinating dies.
Join me in this sneak peak look at this great new set!
It is always fun to create but doing it with a friend is even better. Robyn and I listened to the presentations and crafted together and made all of the projects!
The first project shown below used the gorgeous frame die in Basic Grey as a background over a Misty Moonlight card base and colored in the bird stamp with watercolor pencils!
One of the Bonus projects used the Nests of Winter Suite collection DSP. We fussy cut out lovely birds from the upcoming Designer Series Paper called Nests of Winter and used the frame again but this time we cut the die out of Shaded Spruce cardstock for a totally different look!
It is hard to see in the photo but the crumb cake layer is embossed with the new Birch Wood 3D embossing folder and it adds so much to the background!
The next project shown features the double bird stamp also colored with watercolor pencils, die cut and layered onto Crumb Cake cardstock layer that is adhered to a Early Espresso card base.
This scalloped gift box was decorated with a smear of Metallic Enamel Effects Basics and then we added the sprigs in a wreath arrangement and we added Iridescent Pearls as the berries.
The second bonus card used some additional Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper as the background and the Wintry Sprigs in the foreground.
The last card I have to show you used the negative die of the frame as a mask! This created a unique background – I really like the way this mask created a great background from something many would just thrown away!
Creativity Now is a fun perk of being a demonstrator! Looking for a fun community? People to craft with? I would love to have you join us on the next creative retreat! If you would like to know anything about what we do and the many ways to do this art of papercrafting whether as a customer or a new team member do not hesitate to contact me for additional information.

Now go and create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!

offset gate fold card with new online exclusive products

offset gate fold card with new online exclusive products

There are some new online exclusive products being released on November 7th that demonstrators were able to pre-order and one of the new bundles is called Garden Meadow! The paper is scenic and gorgeous and I wanted to preview it with a fun fold that would utilize as much of it as I could!

Measurements:
Base: Blueberry Bushel 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
Basic White layer: 4″ x 5 1/4″ for inside
DSP 6″ x 6″ cut at 5 1/4″
then cut at 1 1/4″, 2 1/2″

Score the base cardstock at 1 1/2″ and 5 3/4″
Fold Inward.

Adhere the Basic White layer in the center of the inside of the card.
Cut 3/4″ off the 6″ x 6″ piece of Meandering Garden DSP at the bottom to make the piece 5 1/4″. then looking at the picture cut 1 1/4″ and 2 1/2″ off the 6″ side.

This is how I divided my DSP, I wanted to use the meandering path as a focal point so I cut from the right side of the DSP.

Adhere the 1 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of DSP to the smaller panel on the left. Adhere the 2 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ piece of DSP to the larger panel on the left side of the offset gatefold.
This bundle comes with a gorgeous set of new dies that include a gate and an arch shaped opening among other beautiful dies. I cut the gate from Basic Gray cardstock and adhered it to the bottom on either side of the opening.

The bottle you see in the picture is a fine tip glue bottle that I purchased from Amazon I love this precision tip applicator and I refill the bottles with our Multi Purpose liquid glue!

If you would like the link contact me and I can direct you were to buy it!

I stamped a greeting on the outside small panel as well as an inside the card greeting on the middle panel along with the image of the watering can in Basic Gray ink. I also added the additional scenic panel on the inside right panel of the card – couldn’t waste such pretty paper!
I flipped over the 3/4″ piece I cut off the bottom of the DSP in the beginning and added it to the left hand panel. The itty bitty piece of cardstock at the bottom of the card is the only waste I had from that 6″ x 6″ DSP piece!
I added to flat brass birds from the new embellishments from this online exclusive suite called Adhesive-Backed Dragonflies and Birds!

Since these items are not yet available in the online store for customers you can come back on November 7th and see the links to these products below then!

I will be highlighted some of these products in the upcoming weeks so stay tuned for more product reveals!

Now go and create some art of your very own – maybe an offset gate fold like this card with the items you have in your craft room! One stamp at a time!
