rainbow order for new color reset

rainbow order for new color reset

With the big move behind us and most of our stuff organized and unpacked – phase two (my permanent office space) not yet upon us…I decided to get very organized with this upcoming catalog launch.

I decided to organize my inks markers re-inkers and Blends – I wanted them all accessible and together, organized but displayed nicely and the Super Combo Holder was the ticket – so I started purchasing my first organizational supplies from a great company called stamp.n.storage. My first purchase was their Super Combo Holder I bought a 36 and a 24 and placed them on my temporary Stampin’ desk so all of my ink pads, Stampin’ Blends, Stampin’ Write markers and re-inkers are all super organized, beautiful to look at and VERY accessible! I LOVE IT!!!!!
I also decided to arrange the current and incoming new COLOR RESET colors in Rainbow order instead of by color families as I had been doing in the past!
Here is a photo of the stamp.n.storage Super Combo Holders.

Next I tackled my cardstock!

I have always kept my cardstock in Stampin’ Up!’s 9″ x 12″ cello bags and was able to put my sheets and scraps in the same bags – BUT inevitably they ripped up top or down the sides and needed to be replaced and just looked messy after a while!
So I purchased the paper pockets made by stamp.n.storage both in portrait and landscape and put my little label maker on overtime!
Landscape for easy access opening from the side for my 8.5″ x 11″ cardstock and portrait opening at the top for my paper scraps to organize by color!

So for my Rainbow order I separated the colors in Rainbow order and hue:
1. Cherry Cobbler
2. Real Red
3. Poppy Parade
4. Mambo Melon
5. Petal Pink
6. Flirty Flamingo
7. Calypso Coral
8. Cajun Craze
9. Pumpkin Pie
10. Crushed Curry
11. Daffodil Delight
12. Lemon Lolly
13. Soft Sea Foam
14. Lemon Lime Twist
15. Granny Apple Green
16. Old Olive
17. Mossy Meadow
18. Garden Green
19. Shaded Spruce
20. Pretty Peacock
21. Lost Lagoon
22. Coastal Cabana
23. Pool Party
24. Balmy Blue
25. Azure Afternoon
26. Blueberry Bushel
27. Misty Moonlight
28. Night of Navy
29. Blackberry Bliss
30. Gorgeous Grape
31. Highland Heather
32. Berry Burst
33. Fresh Freesia
34. Bubble Bath
35. Crumb Cake
36. Pecan Pie
37. Early Espresso
38. Gray Granite
39. Smoky Slate
40. Basic Gray
41. Craft White

newest on top
Copper Clay

Boho Blue
Moody Mauve
and Pebbled Path
Returning In Colors
Sweet Sorbet
Parakeet Party
Tahitian Tide
Orchid Oasis
Starry Sky

Some people have placed there rainbow order a little differently than mine but I chose to place mine by hue and I see more blue/purply hues in the Berry Burst, Fresh Freesia and Bubble Bath – so I chose to place them at the end of the spectrum with the blues and purples rather than the pinks and reds.

The first new color in the color rest is Lemon Lolly, belonging in the Subtles collection this new Super Soft yellow is such a pretty yellow and a great addition to our collection!
Next color in the Rainbow order is a returning favorite of mine Lemon Lime Twist – in the Brights Collection it is a powerful yellow green – bright and bold! I was hoping so much that they would bring this color back that I did not sell my retired paper LOL!
The Green blue family also got Pretty Peacock as a returning favorite to the Regals Collection – bold green blue color, deep and rich!
Lost Lagoon is the next returning color in my rainbow order – this is another soft light demin blue green and is a welcome returning color to the Subtles Collection!
Another bright blue joins the Brights Collection replacing Pacific Point with a nice lighter version for this new core color.
Blueberry Bushel returns from our former In Color Collection to become a new Core color in the Regals Collection. Deep blue with a rich tone , it is a perfect addition to this collection of colors!
Blue was a popular Core color addition and returning Misty Moonlight completes the new blues in the Color Reset with it’s addition to the Neutrals Collection. Muted and stately – it will be a great Neutral in this collection.
Returning Berry Burst is a sumptuous purple with blue tones and completes the Brights Collection new additions.
Fresh Freesia is the only recent In Color to make the Color Reset and steps down perfectly into a bluish pink tone for our last two colors to be placed into the Subtles Collection!
Bubble Bath is the last new core color to be added to the Subtles Collection with it’s bubblegum pink color and a rich blue undertone I placed it at the end of the rainbow order before starting the neutral colors.
Pecan Pie introduces a new neutral brown to our Neutrals Collection to replace the exiting Soft Suede.
I separated the New Incoming In Colors and returning In Colors to the end of the line as they are not core colors and will change every 2 years

The new In Colors for 2023-2025 are:
Copper Clay
Wild Wheat
Boho Blue
Moody Mauve
and Pebbled Path (my personal favorite of the
new In Color Collection!)

The Returning In Colors for 2022-2024 that will be available for the next year are:
Sweet Sorbet
Parakeet Party
Tahitian Tide
Orchid Oasis
Starry Sky
One of the things I love most about this company is our color coordination – everything matches – the inks and papers, markers and blends, DSP and ribbons and embellishments.

I find that being organized allows my creativity to soar! I love to create and do not get me wrong MOST of the time my desk is a disaster! BUT when my space is clean and organized – when it is easy to locate the supplies I need – I find that I am able to create in peace and the end result is beautiful!

Please let me know if you have received your new catalogs and I will be posting new sneak peaks of colors and new stamps, dies and accessories that will be available soon!

coloring gilded specialty paper

coloring gilded specialty paper

This paper is gorgeously foiled Specialty paper ordered with 6 sheets of 12″ x 12″ paper in 3 different foiled colors: white background with copper foil, white background with silver foil and vanilla background with gold foil.

Today I am highlighting how beautifully easy this paper is to color on!

To maximize the paper I cut the 12″ x 12″ paper into 12 sections of 4″ x 3″

Measurements:
Card Base: Pool Party 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at
4 1/4″
DSP 4″ x3″
Bermuda Bay layer: 4 1/4″ x 3 1/4″
scrap Basic white for the sentiment piece

Using the Stamparatus platform, secure the Naturally Gilded Specialty Designer Series Paper with the magnets on the opposite top corners.
Start at the bottom of the paper and, ink the Blending Brush in the Bermuda Bay ink, starting off the page burnish ink into the paper using a circular motion – repeat process until the color is the tone you desire. The more you apply ink the darker and more vibrant the color will become.
Using the other blending brush in the Pool Party ink pad brush the head on the ink surface and then starting off the page apply color above the Bermuda Bay color line blending into the Bermuda Bay section, leaving a little white on top.
Wipe the excess ink off the foiled areas with a paper towel.
Adhere the Specialty DSP layer to the Bermuda Bay card base piece.
Adhere the layered piece to the top left hand corner of the card front.
Stamp the sentiment onto the small die cut in Bermuda Bay ink and pop up on Stampin’ Dimensionals (after removing the paper from the pop up dots place the ribbon folded in half diagonally on the back of the sentiment piece) and adhere to the card front in the lower right hand corner.
Add Iridescent Basic Pearl embellishments to the card and you are complete.
fun with shapes

fun with shapes

Watercolor Shapes (#156968) is one of those versatile stamp sets with shapes that often gets overlooked – this stamp set is now retired and SOLD OUT but I wanted to share some ideas for using shape stamps with you as other sets have shape stamps in them.
Using the shapes as a background is one easy way to use this set and creates a lovely backdrop for this simply stamped card.
I stamped the background and them restamped the photopolymer clear stamp again on these 1/4″ Real Red cardstock strips. Stamped the Biggest Wish sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and added a few Matte Black dots to finish it off!
Not only did I use the small square for the background in this card as well, but I did a rock n roll effect (this is where you take a stamp and roll the edges only in the ink pad so that the center of the stamp remains less or uninked and stamp it down on the paper)
This “halo” effect of the rock n roll technique creates a spotlight for the sentiment! I stamped it onto a rainbow scrap piece of paper and added Brilliant Wings die cuts and Matte Black dots!
This card uses the same technique as the last sample but in a different color scheme.
This sample uses the larger circle as a background image for the sentiment. Popped up over the smaller circle background it adds interest and continuity to the card!
Using multiple colors and shape images this card uses the same techniques as the last sample but adds depth and dimension using the multiple colors and shapes.

This next sample uses the retiring color Mint Macaron and retiring die set Brilliant Wings dies as the foreground for the small square pattern made with the Watercolor Shapes stamp set.

Starting yesterday I will be posting every Sunday a color challenge – I would love to see what you all come up with – yesterday I posted a five color palette featuring Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral and Real Red.
Here is the card that I designed around this first color challenge – send me photos of the cards you come up with i cannot wait to see your creations!
simply succulent front flap card

simply succulent front flap card

Today’s card features the Simply Succulent Bundle that is SOLD OUT but still available from my personal retiring stamp sale that will begin May 4th. This front flap fun fold card is “buttoned closed” with a succulent die cut and opens both right and left for a fun surprise element to the card!

Measurements:
Base: Mint Macaron (retiring color)
5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″ and 1/2″ cut
off the front right hand side
Basic White: 3 1/2″ x 4″ scored at 1/2″ on the 4″
side to make the main portion 3 1/2″ square
4 ” x 5 1/4″ for the inside
scrap of Mint and White for die cuts

Cut the 1/2″ section off the right side of the card front panel.
Score the 4″ side of the Basic White 3 1/2″ x 4″ piece of cardstock and add adhesive to the scored 1/2″ edge.
Adhere the 1/2″ score to the underside of the center left edge of the 4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic White cardstock piece.
Adhere the 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock to the inside of the card base.
Using Scrap cardstock (I used Mint Macaron so that I could use this piece on another card but it can be any color as you are using this piece for a mask only on this card) cut the large die from the Potted Succulents die set. Holding the die as a mask on the card front, rub Mint Macaron ink with a Blending Brush through the pattern of the die creating a tone on tone background.
Using scrap Basic White cardstock, stamp in Tuxedo Black Memento ink the large succulent image and color with Mint Macaron and Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends markers. The die cut the image out.
The alcohol markers blend nicely and as you allow to dry and return another color over the top of the last color the image blends nicely.
Open up the inside of the card and stamp the sentiment in Mint Macaron and add several small succulent stamps around the sentiment.
I punched the edges of the 1/2″ strip I cut from the card front and adhered it under the sentiment wording after creasing the piece in half to correspond to the score line.
Die cut additional greenery and pop up the main colored succulent image on the front of the Basic White 3 1/2″ square piece. Adhere the Mint greenery die cuts under the popped up succulent piece.
Add one die cut – adhered on the main card front just below the bottom left hand corner of where the white square lands on the card front – this will serve as a “latch” to help the front flap stay closed.
Tuck the front flap under that die cut to keep the card closed.
Add Iridescent Rhinestone Gems to finish off the card with some bling!
This is an easy fun fold – hope you try something similar with your own supplies soon – go out and create some art of your own – one stamp at a time!

This front flip card is super simple and a fun take on just a regular card.

This Hues of Happiness DSP (#158822) is gorgeous and will be retiring with this Annual Catalog so if it is one of your favorites too make sure to order it soon before it sells out. My current Hostess Code is R9AWXX7K

This card starts out like an ordinary card with a base of 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″ but with a few simple cuts and adhesive it takes it to an easy next level card!

Measurements:
Mambo Melon: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″
Basic White: scrap strip for the sentiment
3 1/4″ x 4″ for the inside
DSP: 1″ x 4″ (2), 3 1/4″ x 4″ (1)

Cut from the score line to the bottom edge at 1 1/4″ in from both outside edges.
Adhere the left hand strip to the card base.
Adhere the 1″ strip to the left hand 1 1/4″ strip leaving 1/8″ border around the entire DSP piece.
Adhere the 1 1/4″ piece of card on the right side to the card base.
Adhere the other 1″ piece of DSP to the right side 1 1/4″ flap that you just adhered to the card base.
Adhere the 3 1/4″ x 4″ DSP to the outside center front flap.
Stamp the Flower from the Artistically Inked stamp set in Mambo melon ink to the lower left hand corner of the 3 1/4″ x 4″ Basic White piece of cardstock. Adhere to the inside of the card base.
Using a 1/2″ strip of Basic White cardstock, stamp the sentiment from the Artically Inked stamp set and color the strip using Mambo Melon ink and a Blending Brush. Apply tape to the center of the strip and adhere to the front flap leaving the edges to float past the front flap.
Add embellishments and this easy card is complete!

Hope you enjoyed this simple card twist and try it soon. Now go out and create some art of your own – one stamp at a time!
