wanted to say in color strip background

wanted to say in color strip background

I LOVE showing you creative ways to use your things that you purchased! Instead of throwing away the strips that you cut while making cards and layers here is a creative way to use them as background paper.

If you take Adhesive Sheets this is an easy way to tie all of those scraps together to make your own designer series paper!

Lay the strips down onto the Adhesive Sheet leaving no space between the strips.
Build the paper in a pattern or randomly your choice! I chose to use a repeating pattern of the five 2022-2024 In Colors: Starry Sky, Orchid Oasis, Parakeet Party, Sweet Sorbet and Tahitian Tide in that order!
I die cut the background for the word dies from the Wanted to Say die set using the Happy Birthday sentiment. I also die cut two of the star dies.
I then die cut the Happy Birthday words in Basic Black cardstock.
Measurements for this card:
BASE: Starry Sky Card stock 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
Basic White layer: (2) 4″ x 5 1/4″
since we are using dark card stock I add a
Basic White layer to the inside as well as the
card front
plenty of In Color 1/4″ strips
Adhesive Sheets cut to 8 1/2″
Sweet Sorbet scrap for Everyday Details circle
I die cut the medium circle from the Everyday Details die set in Sweet Sorbet and adhered the Basic Black Happy Birthday to the multicolor strip background and then mounted that onto the die to create the focal point for the card front!
I ran the first Basic White layer through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine with the polka dotted folder from the Basics 3D embossing folder and adhered that layer to the Starry Sky card base.
Then I mounted the focal point with Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop it up from the card.
I adhered two star dies to the upper and lower diagonals of the card front.
I added three Sweet Sorbet 2022-2024 In Color Pearls to the card front to finish it off nicely with coordinating embellishments.

I love the cheery effect this strip background brings to the card!

Try this with your scraps and create a beautiful card of your own – one stamp at a time!

more color mondays – tahitian tide, starry sky and parakeet party

more color mondays – tahitian tide, starry sky and parakeet party

Can you tell I am sad that these In Colors are retiring I want to make the most out of these colors while we still have them! Today’s More Color Monday features three of the 2022-2024 In Color Collection that will soon be gone! (insert sad face here LOL!)
This card incorporates an Blends and alcohol technique we have used before in Starry Sky, Tahitian Tide and Parakeet Party.

Measurements:
BASE: Starry Sky 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″
Basic White layer 4″ x 5 1/4″
scraps for dies
Parakeet Party scrap for sentiment die

I love the new glass mat studio, I colored with the three Stampin’ Blends markers directly onto the glass surface and sprayed with 99% Isopropyl Alcohol.
I die cut the wreath from the Natural Prints die set in Basic White cardstock.
I laid the paper down on the surface and allowed time for the ink to be absorbed into the paper.
Then I just wiped the surface clean with the shammy that came with the studio.
Allow the die to dry.
I followed the die cut embossed lines in the die with the Dark Parakeet Party Stampin’ Blends marker to add a little highlighting.
I die cut the medium circle from the Everyday Details die set and colored the surface with a blending brush and Starry Sky ink.
I die cut the smaller dotted circle die from the same Everyday Details die set in Parakeet Party cardstock and stamped the Hello There in Starry Sky ink from the Nature’s Prints stamp set that is on the Last Chance list! I popped up the smaller circle onto the larger one.
I did a bit of collage stamping on the Basic White layer starting with the largest image in Starry Sky ink.
I stamped the splatter image in Tahitian Tide next. Overlapping the images.
And last I stamped the fern image in Parakeet Party ink to finish off the stamping.
I cut apart the alcohol colored wreath and adhered it to the card.
I adhered the Basic White stamped layer to the Starry Sky card base.
I added the sentiment focal piece.
I added some Tahitian Tide In Color pearls to give the card a little bling!
At this point I could have been done but I decided that the card needed a little more contrast so I took my Stampin’ Blends markers to my Glass Mat Studio again, die cut another wreath and sprayed more alcohol – this time with a greater emphasis on the Starry Sky marker.
I laid the wreath on the glass and then allowed it to dry.
I ripped the sentiment focal piece off the card , adhered the starry Sky dyed wreath to the card center.
I mounted the sentiment focal piece on top of that wreath which added more contrast that I felt the card needed. What do you think?
I just thought the card needed something! Do not hesitate to change things if you do not love the outcome – you never know the second try could be so much better than the first attempt! I like my second try!
Try this color combination and if you love these colors remember they are leaving soon some of them are SOLD OUT! If you got these ink pads remember to get the ink refills before it’s too late!

Now go and create some In Color creations of your very own – one stamp and one ink pad at a time!

And this is the stamp set that comes in the kit:
I added two Brushed Gold Cards and Envelopes to the mix to change the tags that come in the kit into cards. This item is currently back-ordered but will continue into the new Annual Catalog and should be back soon!
This first card was done exactly according to the kit instructions which are full colored instruction sheets and very helpful for those that do not want to go off-script!

Sweet layers and pop-up balloons make this a beautiful and easy birthday card anyone would be proud to send and happy to receive!

I modified one of the tags and popped it up on the Brushed Gold Cards and Envelopes. Changed the stamping and made a fun and easy card out of one of the tags!
For the second tag card I added a 2″ panel embossed with the polka dots from the Basics 3D embossing folder and popped up the tag over that panel on the Brushed Gold card.
This last card I changed up and added a window sheet and some foam adhesive strips to the mix to make a shaker card with the Iridescent Shaker Circles, which will be retiring. These are a must have if you like to make shaker cards. They are full of fun and whimsy and I love this card!
Come join us Tuesday and if you can’t this is a great kit to buy and have for all those birthday cards needed for the rest of the year! With just a few extra supplies you can double the cards in the kit and get 12 cards instead of 6 cards and 6 tags! there are left over pieces that could easily make another card of two as well!

Now go and create some birthday cards of your own – one stamp at a time!

more color mondays – lost lagoon, melon mambo and lemon lime twist

more color mondays – lost lagoon, melon mambo and lemon lime twist

So the end of March and beginning of April are always a very busy time for Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators as we prepare for the Last Chance Lists and the upcoming New Annual Catalog.
Every year around this time I clean out my stamping stash of everything that is on the Last Chance List and prepare to sell them at my New Catalog Open House and after my customers have first chance at them I sell them on-line! I also clean out all my samples that I have made and acquired over the last year that was made with any of the retiring products – I collect them into sets of 10 and place them into great acrylic boxes to sell as well!

Below is a photo of some of the new boxes I put together – they make great gifts or just to have a stash of cards at home so you do not have to run to the store for a last minute card!

I sell them for $20 for 10 cards or 2 boxes of 10 for $30 (you cannot get cards of this quality for $1.50-2.00 anymore!)
I also will customize the boxes for you for $25/box you can choose 5 birthday and 5 thank yous or whatever mix you choose!

Today’s More Color Monday features Lost Lagoon, Melon Mambo and Lemon Lime Twist, I made a simple card and a stepped up version for this color challenge!

I chose one of my favorite retiring stamps and die sets Artistically Inked and Artistic Dies!
There is a background stamp that when I first saw this set I thought looked like a gerbil and I thought I would never use it then I played with it and it makes the coolest backgrounds!

Measurements
BASE: Basic White CS 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
1″ x 3 1/4″ strips (3 of them)
scrap for the sentiment piece, and roses
flower dies
Melon Mambo 1 1/4″ x 3 1/2″
Lost Lagoon 1 1/4″ x 3 1/2″
Lemon Lime Twist 1 1/4″ x 3 1/2″

Stamp the long background stamp in the three different colors on the 1″ x 3 1/4″ strips of Basic White CS. Stamp the smaller rose flower in each of the ink colors and die cut.
Adhere each of the 1″ strips to the matte of the corresponding cardstock color. Stamp the Happy Birthday sentiment in Melon Mambo and add the background stamp in the other two ink colors off the edges to add depth and dimension to the sentiment piece. Cut on a diagonal on both ends.
Adhere the matted stamped 1″ strips to the center of the card front.
I popped up the roses in alternating colors diagonally on the matted background pieces.
Adhere the sentiment piece to the top right hand corner of the card.
I added In Color Pearls to the card but I decided to step it up even further!
I stamped the larger flower in Lemon Lime Twist and them added Lost Lagoon ink to the edges with a Blending Brush. I pulled up the center Melon Mambo rose and added the larger flower underneath.
Using extra Basic White scraps to die cut the leaves from the Artistic dies and separate them into smaller clusters, I tucked them under the roses.
For the simpler card I used the same colored cardstock scraps and added them to a Basic White card front in a geometric pattern.
I die cut my favorite die from the Artistic dies in Basic White and adhered it over the colored cardstock. I added Melon Mambo ink with a Blending Brush to the hello sentiment piece and added some In Color Pearls to finish off this SIP – stamps, ink , paper card!
Try your hand at this color combination and go create some artwork of your very own – one stamp at a time!

easter card using the timeless arrangement stamp set

easter card using the timeless arrangement stamp set

One of the perks of being a demonstrator is the Demonstrator Planning Place it is a demonstrator only sharing forum – and this community is among the most giving and sharing population on Earth! I recently saw a home decor frame with a similar technique on this Facebook page and had to try it out for a card.

Measurements:
Basic White CS: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″

YEP THAT’S IT! This is what you call Simple Stamping! Stamps, Ink, and Paper this is an awesome beginner card that has a WOW feel to it!

Take two pieces of scotch tape and place them perpendicular over one another the top piece about 1/4 of the way down over the bottom piece cut the cross piece to the length desired to make it look like a cross. Place on the card front of the folded Basic White base card.
Pick colors and the floral pieces from the Timeless Arrangements stamp set (#161521) this is retiring and is a great thank you/appreciation/friendship stamp set. If you want it order it as soon as possible using the current hostess code EGCF9KYB as they are WHILE SUPPLIES LAST and I have a feeling this one will sell out! The Timeless Arrangement bundle (#161526) and the dies (#161525) are also on the Last Chance list – the bundle is both the set and the dies for 10% discount.

Start stamping the individual stamps scattering them out over the cross tape piece as if they are peeking out from under the cross!

Continue to use different colors and different stamps until the whole section around the cross is covered. (Be careful not to touch the tape as the ink does not stick and dry so you will get ink on your fingers!)
Carefully remove the tape and wash your hands to remove the ink so as not to transfer onto your card! You are left with an optical illusion where the flower and leaf sprigs appear to be underneath the white cross – this gives the card depth and dimension without layers!!
Stamp a sentiment in the cross piece.
Add embellishments to finish the card with a little bling and you have the perfect Easter card without an Easter stamp set!

Now go and create some artwork of your own – one stamp at a time!

Note I only used the Timeless Arrangements stamp set for this Simple Stamping card but added the bundle and dies in the photos below for your easy ordering reference if you want it all!!

Happy Stampin’ and have a Blessed Easter weekend!

patchwork pieces dies with upcoming sneak peak

patchwork pieces dies with upcoming sneak peak

While OnStage Houston is over I am still sharing all of the incredible experiences, swaps, swag, and information we received while we were there!

Below is a picture of all the stuff I came home with plus about three times as many swap cards as are in the photo!!

We all got a fabulous backpack and thank goodness or I would not have made it back home! That Peach Pie colored zipper tote is perfect for all the little essentials I need to tote to my classes! We got a new kit with honeycomb embellishments called Hooray for Honeycomb be looking for that to be released with the upcoming catalog! We received a copy of the new catalog before anyone else that was super exciting! We got a paper pumpkin stamp set or grid paper our choice, a new background stamp set and they gave away 6 different upcoming DSP packages in the Prize Patrol.

As we looked at the catalog, my new downline and dear old friend Barb fell in love with the Mediterrean Blooms DSP and I fell in love with the Full of Life suite! I told her that we were going to win those two and on the last day our numbers were called I won the Mediterrean Blooms and gifted it to her and she won the Full of Life and gifted it to me! You should have heard us you would have thought we won the lottery for a million dollars we laughed so hard that we had manifested those two packets!!

Today’s card for this blog post is a little old a little new! I am using the Patchwork pieces – which received my most views ever on Pinterest! See my May 31st 2023 for the cards that currently has over 400 pin clicks and 6500 views!! Thank you to all those that follow me on Pinterest! This fabulous die set will be retiring with the current catalog so if you love this I would recommend ordering it (#161592) using my current hostess code EGCF9KYB – these and all the Last Chance list items are only while supplies last. You can find the Last Chance list and order on my Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator site at https://nataliestamps.stampinup.net

Measurements:
BASE: Berry Burst/Melon Mambo 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
scored at 4 1/4″
Coastal Cabana layer: 3 1/2″ x 5″
scrap for Everyday Details die (this is retiring!)
Basic White layer: 3 1/4″ x 4 3/4″
DSP: 6×6 sheets to die cut

Add Stampin’ Seal directly to the Basic White layer (this will help you keep the DSP straight or adhere directly to the Coastal Cabana layer.

I die cut the patchwork pieces die twice and alternated the pieces with back and front of the same Designer Series Paper.
I made two versions using the left overs from the first card!
I stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black memento ink onto a Coastal Cabana Everyday Details circle die. The sentiment is from the In the Moment stamp set (#157987) this is retiring. The Everyday Details dies are also on the Last Chance list (#162864) which I am VERY SAD about!!
Adhere the Coastal Cabana layer to the card base and pop up the sentiment die onto Stampin’ Dimensionals and add to the middle of the patchwork piece die.
Add Iridescent Pearls to the card front to finish off with some stunning embellishments – these are my favorite so versatile. Go with everything and you can even color them to make them coordinate!
So excited to show you the rest of this great DSP paper in the coming weeks but so sad to see these items that are leaving go away!

Now it’s your turn to go and create some art work of your very own – one stamp at a time!

Happy Stampin’
Natalie

P.S. The Full of Life Suite and DSP will not be available and therefore will not be shown in the ordering icon images below until May 1st!
