boughs of holly gift card holder fun fold card

boughs of holly gift card holder fun fold card

This is an easy gift card holder fun fold!
This is my version of a card I showed from my fun fold swap blog post on Monday, using the Boughs of Holly Suite (#159612) Collection.

Measurements:
BASE: Real Red CS 5 1/2″ x 10″ scored at 4 1/4″
and 8 1/2″
Gift Card Holder insert: Thick Basic White CS
3 1/2″ x 7″ scored at 3 1/2″
Inside layer: 4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic White
DSP on small flap: 1 1/4″ x 5 1/4″
Front Layers:
Basic White CS 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″
Boughs of Holly DSP 4″ x 5 1/4″
scrap of Basic White for the sentiment die cut

Adhere the 1 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ DSP to the front of the inside small right hand flap.
I stamped a holly leaf on the lower portion of the inside back layer and adhered in to the card base middle panel.
Using a Blending Brush I added color in Soft Succulent shade to the middle portion of the white cardstock, so when I adhere the gift card holder the white will stand out on the greenish background tone.
Fold the 3 1/2″ x 7″ Basic White CS in half at the score line. Stamp or decorate the left hand side of the score line and adhere the outer side edges together making a pocket. Run through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine with a small die to add a tab to the gift card pocket to allow for easier removal of the gift card. I used a smaller circle from the Stylish Shapes die set (#159183). Flip the pocket over and adhere two lines of Tear N Tape to the bottom of the pocket directly opposite of the tab you just created on the pocket.
Adhere the pocket at the score seem of the right flap in the middle of the card.
The flap will fold inward on the card tucking the gift card pocket inside the card.
Adhere the DSP to the Basic White CS front layer and adhere both layers to the card front.
Stamp and die cut your sentiment and adhere with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the bottom right hand side of the card front. I also colored the white cardstock with a blending brush for added color and dimension.
I added Real Red Rhinestones to the sentiment piece for some added bling and there you have an easy flap fold gift card holder!

Hope this inspired you to begin to create for your holiday gift giving! Go out and create some art of your own soon – one stamp at a time!

wedding tri-fold gift card holder

wedding tri-fold gift card holder

Monday I posted the photos of the recent fancy fold/gift card holder swap I participated in and swaps ALWAYS inspire me! For the nxt few posts I will be taking the fun folds and the gift card holders I received and posting my own spin on them! This gift card holder is a tri-fold and super simple! It was inspired by the North Pole Mischief card shown on Monday’s blog post.

Measurements:

BASE: 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ Pool Party CS
Base layer: 5 1/4″ x 4″ Splendid Day Specialty
paper
TRI-FOLD: 4 1/4″ x 9 3/4″ scored at 3 1/4″ from
side
Top Tri-Fold layers:
Basic White CS : 4″ x 3″
DSP: 3 3/4″ x 2 3/4″
scrap Basic White CS for die cut
scrap Pool Party CS for Stylish Shapes diecut
Bottom Inside Tri-Fold layer:
DSP: 4″ x 3″ for pocket scored at 1/4″ and
sides and bottom
die cut with a portion of the second
smallest stylish shapes circle die for tab
Middle Inside Tri-Fold layer:
Basic White 4″ x 2 1/2″
Pool Party Strips 4″ 1/4″ (2)

Prepare the base layer by adhering the 5 1/4″ x 4″ DSP to the 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ Pool Party base. (If you would like this to also be a standard card you can adhere the DSP to the outside of a standard A2 card base but there will be room to write inside the Tri-Fold so this is an option and up to you.
Score the 4 1/4″ x 9 3/4″ piece of Pool Party CS at 3 1/4″ from each 9 3/4″ side dividing the piece in thirds.

Take the 4″ x 3″ piece of DSP and score at 1/4″ on the bottom of the 4″ side and both 3″ sides. Cut the corner squares out before running it the DSP through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine. I used the second smallest circle die from the Stylish Shapes die set but you can be creative and use any punch or die you have to make the tab so that the gift card is easier to put in and take out!

Using one of my favorite Stampin’ Up! tools, place Stampin’ Seal + (#149699) or Tear N Tape (#154031) on the edges of the scored sides (the picture shows regular Stampin’ Seal but I redid this step to get a better seal on the pocket to secure it properly for the gift card) Protecting your work surface with the Silicone Craft Sheet is the best (#127853) at $6.50 it is the unsung hero of the craft table and a life saver for your work surface! Love this little mat!

Using the Pool Party ink and a tone on tone imagery, I stamped the leaves from the Splendid Thoughts stamp set (#159668) on the outside bottom of the tri-fold. Fold the section up to make sure that you are stamping the image right way up!
Prepare the Tri-Fold front cover.
Die cut one of the leaf images from the Splendid Stems die set (#159676).
Die cut the largest banner die from the Stylish Shapes die set (#159183) from a scrap of Pool Party CS and stamp with a sentiment and a stamp.
Adhere the 4″ x 3″ Basic White CS to the front layer.
Adhere the DSP 3 3/4″ x 2 3/4″ if there is a direction to the DSP you use make sure that the Tri-Fold is folded down so that you position everything right side up.
Pop up the sentiment onto Stampin’ Dimensionals and add the die cut leaves underneath.
With the Dark Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Blends marker (#154878) color some Iridescent Pearls (#158987) to color coordinate with the card!
Prepare the middle Tri-Fold layer.
Stamp in Pool Party ink the inside sentiment onto the 4″ x 2 1/2″ Basic White CS.
Adhere the Pool Party Strips above and below the sentiment and adhere the colored Iridescent Pearls to the piece after adhering the piece onto the center of the tri-fold.
Adhere the Tr-Fold onto the center of the base card.
Adhere plain Iridescent Pearls to the outside sentiment piece.
These are one of the few none stampin’ Up! items I use in my card making – for a bulky closure I adhered 3/8″ Thin clear Velcro fasteners!
The Velcro closures allow the card to lay flat when closed and holding the gift card treasure inside for the lucky recipient!

Hope this inspired you to make some fun gift card holders for the Holidays, Birthdays, Weddings or any occasion!

Go out and create some art of your very own – one stamp at a time!

bi-fold window flap fun fold card

bi-fold window flap fun fold card

September was Fun Fold swap month – I love doing fun folds and this one was the first to arrive (I will show them in a blog post once I receive the majority of them in the mail!)
– it is a window bi-fold fun fold card and it is so simple I had to CASE it and detail it here for you! Thanks to fellow swap demonstrator Marie W for the inspiration and she credited Peggy N! thanks to both you creative ladies!

Measurments:
Base: Basic White CS 8 1/2″ square
scored at 4 1/4 on both sides
Lights Aglow DSP 4″ square
Distressed Gold 12″ x 12″ DSP 4″ square
scraps of Basic White for the sentiment

Score at 4 1/4″ on both sides.
Cut the top left corner out as shown in o
image.

Die cut the largest circle from the square below the empty space and cut a 1/16″ of an inch off the score line between the upper square and the empty space so the card will close easier without buckling.
Placing the open space in the upper left hand corner – stamp a sentiment in versamark and heat emboss with Gold Embossing powder on the diagonal space (lower right hand square)
Fold the top square downward and adhere the DSP 4″ square to the folded down flap.
Stamp the snowflake image from the Chistmas Lights stamp set in Versamark on the card front around the window opening and set with the heat tool and Gold embossing powder.
Add a gold shimmer ribbon to the card front circle window as shown in the photo below.
Adhere the Distressed Gold DSP to the back of the window opening and die cut the next circle die down from the largest in the Stylish Shapes die set .
Using the new Embossing accessories kit LOVE That this is back new and improved!!! – I embossed the outside sentiment and die cut with the small detailed circle die from the Twinkling Lights dies set.
I popped up the card front sentiment on Stampin’ Dimensionals and placed it through the card front window onto the Black DSP on the flap. I was a little uncentered with my circle so I took the opportunity to be creative and added additional Gold Shimmer Ribbon to the right side of the Lights Aglow DSP on the flap to balance the sentiment.
This was Marie W’s swap card that inspired my CASE card today!
And here is my finished version!
If you have wanted to try a fun fold lately this is a perfect one to start with – simple and easy but elegant!

gate fold explosion card

gate fold explosion card

OK are we all in agreement any card that explodes outward towards the recipient has a great WOW factor! and this one does not disappoint!

Measurements:
Real Red CS : 4 1/4″ x 11″ scored at 2 3/4″ from
each side on the 11″ side
Designer Series Paper 4″ x 10 3/4″ scored at
2 5/8 from each long side!
Basic White insert: 3 3/4″ x 5 1/4″ marked at
1 7/8″ on both short sides and at 2 5/8″ at
each long side and score from mark to mark
the whole way around the insert making four
connecting score lines.
Front panels:
Basic White CS: 4″ x 5 1/4″
DSP: 3 3/4″ x 5″
scrap pieces of garden green for the Holly leaves and sentiment layer
Belly Band:
Real Red 1″ x 11″
DSP 3/4″ x 12″

Cut and Score the CS and DSP as described in the measurement section above
After the initial scoring of the Designer series paper, fold the score lines in towards the center and with a pencil mark the outside edges at 2″ mark and both ends. With the two side pieces folded in the back piece measures 5 1/2″ from score line to score line. We want to mark the center of that back piece at 2 3/4″ (or if it is easier for you open the paper the whole way and find the center of 10 3/4″ and mark the top and bottom at 5 3/8″)
Once you’ve marked the center both ways fold the score lines in and place the 2″ mark in the scoring track of your Stampin’ Trimmer and align the mark at 2 3/4″ in the other side of the track – repeat this process until all four diagonal lines are scored (see diagram below)
Fold the score lines as if pinching in towards each other as shown in photo below and using a bone folder burnish each score line to allow the explosion portion to lie as flat as possible!
Place the diamond shaped folded explosion portion of the card in the center of the card base and using Stampin’ Seal+ or TearNTape secure the top to the scored folded right side
Adhere the left side of the explosion piece to the scored fold on the left side of the base.
Cut, stamp and adhere the insert to the center of the explosion piece.
Taking the Front panels adhere the DSP to the Basic White layer and only placing Stampin’ Seal+ to the outside of the left scored panel adhere just the left side of the front panel to the card front.
I also adhered a Holly die cut to the upper right hand portion of the card front panel.
I adhered the belly band pieces together
The DSP will be longer and you will need that length to secure the belly band the entire way around the card.
I adhered the sentiment piece on top of the 1 inch of belly band that only had DSP to hide that portion.
Make the belly band loose enough to slip on and off.
I adhered Red Rhinestones to the sentiment piece for added bling and viola a special WOW Christmas explosion card for someone special!
This is the completed card closed, opened and a close up shot of the insert decorated with matching red rhinestones!

Hope you try this fun WOW card soon! Now go out and create some art of your own – one stamp at a time!
