faker shaker card – an easy option shaker!

A Faker Shaker card is an easy way to make a shaker card – and the results are beautiful.  Start with a 4″ x 5 /14 ” piece of Designer Series in this sample I used a sheet from the Sand and Sea DSP (#154288), a clear envelope (#120619)and a Crumb Cake cardstock base card (#120953).

Insert the Designer Series Paper into the clear envelope so that the tape part of the envelope is facing the back of the DSP.  Using Scotch tape, fold the side of the envelope over so there is no excess and the clear envelope hugs both sides of the DSP. (see image below)

Pour sequins into the envelope and seal on the backside. (I also take the corner and scotch tape it diagonally towards the center of the piece of DSP so it does not peek out of the side of the card.) I used some retired sequins (great way to use up sequins!) but the current catalog choices would love lovely here – Whale of a Time Sequins (#152461) has seashell sequin and ties in beautifully with the Sand and Sea Suite theme!

Attach the faker shaker card piece to the base.

Embellish the front with desired sentiments, die cuts or other items.  For this sample I die cut the large die cut from the Seaside Shells Dies (#156095), anything you adhere needs to be adhered with a strong tape, due to the fact that you are adhering onto the slick surface of the envelope. I used the Stampin’ Seal + (#149699) to adhere the die cut to the envelope – running the tape onto the paper not the envelope and securing the die cut to the top side of the envelope shaker.

I die cut the seashells in our new Pearlescent Specialty Paper (#154291) then embossed it with the coordinating Seashells 3D embossing folder (#154309). The results are stunning – the shimmer does not translate as well in photos as in real life!

I added a sentiment on the Pearlescent Specialty Paper in Tuxedo Momento Black Ink (#132708) and a mat of Soft Suede Cardstock (#115318) both die cut with various sizes of the Stitched Rectangular Dies (#151820)

Finally I added an extra shell die cut colored with the light and dark Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends alcohol ink markers (#154884) and added a couple Opal Rounds (#154289) for a last bit of sparkle!
